On arrival in this crazy city (so many motorbikes) we were very surprised by this hotel.
Drinks on arrival, flowers on the bed, fruit basket to die for..........
Its beautifully decorated and newly renovated so we could not find anything wrong...
The room and bathroom had a good size, no view for us since we were on the second floor, but we were walking outside all day so it did not really matter...
Location is good and you can walk easily to where ever you want.
The breakfast was great and was able to cater for any guest's needs... I just have to recommend their French Toast - yummmee...
The staff was very helpfull in booking train tickets, flights and many other attractions in the area. I recommend this hotel if you want to be treated like royalty but pay a reasonable price.

this hotel was recommended by another traveller and we can only agree with him that there is noway we can fault the hotel for personel service excellent breakfast and reasonable prices. I hope they don't increase them too much Great for middle range travellers.

We had been upgraded to the Essence by our tour company and were extremely happy and satisfied. The rooms were extremely clean, modern and spacious and the bed was not hard like most hotel beds in Asia. The beds were scattered with rose petals and the bathroom basin was filled with water and had rose petals floating in them. It was a real romantic touch. We only stayed one night, plus we had an extended checkout, but wish we could have stayed more. The hotel is located in the Old Quarter District and walking distance to all the sites and good restaurants. Our teenage children were so happy that each room had a laptop (unfortunately they could not access Facebook in their room, but we did not have a problem in ours). The staff at the front were always happy and polite, and always stopped for a conversation. Breakfast was good and we ate dinner in the restaurant and teenage son reckons it was the best hamburger he had ever tasted. Would definitely recommed this hotel and would stay there again.

I hope the Essence Hanoi get its ratings up to #1 for the best hotel to stay in Hanoi. My family and I stayed there for 6 nights and from the moment we arrived at the airport until the time we left, the staff there treated us so well that everything that they do for the guests comes from their hearts with so much sincerity and so much kindness. Thank you to the Essence also for warning of of the scam at the airport because without the warning ,we would have gone with the wrong driver. When we got cleared customs and looking for our driver, there were two fellas staying next to each other with cards with my name on it!. Luckily the Essence warned us that only go with the one that has Hotel Elegance written on the card and not with anyone else. I also made the correct driver ring the hotel so that I can speak to them to ensure we got picked up by the correct driver.
Back to the hotel, we arrived a few days before Tet New Year and the streets were busy with so much buzz and people, bikes and cars were everywhere. Taxis were hard to get and one night we wanted to go out to dinner but taxis were scarce but both the hotel manager and one of the porters went out to the main street to hail a taxi for us, this took a good 20 minutes but they kept at it until they found one for us. A service that only a 5 star or above hotel would do, it was so nice!
Another nice touch is the free laptop in the room and the free wifi. Superb. Great for my teenage sons who some days didn't want to roam the streets with us. The welcome drink was also divine!
This hotel is definitely deserves more than a 5 star I say a 6 -7 stars for everything, I highly recommend anyone going to Hanoi to stay there, it is the absolute best!!!
