A hidden gem close to the old quarter, Old hanoi allows you to step out of the whirl of motorbikes and crowds. The food is classical vietnamese, and fortunately the staff speak good english to allow you to navigate the menu. Particularly enjoyed the seafood hotpot, and fried fish wrapped in rice paper. Its probably more expensive than others but worth it for the quiet location and attention to detail. During our visit there was a performance of old vietnamese music between 7 and 9pm.
