“Gordon Ramsey would be slinging epithets at the staff if he had our meal experience”
How many things can go wrong in the same evening? Quite a few apparently. Let me start with the good stuff....the staff were charming. The music was hauntingly authentic and classical Vietnamese very well performed. But we didn't come for the cultural experience, we came for the food...and it was sorely lacking. We ordered the spring rolls, the signature Gordon Ramsay ribs, and the grilled chicken and lemongrass. Five minutes after ordering, they came out to tell us they didn't have the ribs (it was 7pm and there was only one other couple in the place). Later they came out to say they didn't have the grilled chicken. We then ordered the grilled salt and pepper prawn. When it came out, that's just what it was....a single prawn. Two small bites. And it was mealy and unappetizing to boot. The spring rolls, which were the appetizer, we're very generous and nicely fried, but more importantly tasteless. The pork and vegetable filling was dry and completely pedestrian. I admit our expectations were high, but honestly we could have had a much better Vietnamese meal in Philadelphia.
