“Friendly and clean”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. It was clean and the staff were so friendly. They upgraded us on our return stay and when I asked them to help me mail a postcard, they were happy to do so. There was wifi in our room and also a computer (first time we'd ever seen that!) If we ever returned to Hanoi, we'd definitely stay here again.

“Friendly, professional & efficient.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

The owner and his staff have a good thing going here. They are very helpful, the rooms are clean and nicely appointed. Of all the many hotels in this class with similar amenities, it is clear they focus on service in order to stand out. It's working.

“Good value and honest staff”

We stayed about 4-5 nights there, this is probably the cheapest hotel in old Hanoi. We arrived early in the morning, could have the room quite fast. we had an issue with taxidriver (overpriced), reception staff came to help us to bargain.
Staff was friendly and very helpfull. Room was big and clean, had real hot water in the bathroom. Free wifi available in the room.
We organise the Holong Bay tour (3days, 2nights) with the hotel. We took the cheapest tour with 2nights on a boat. It was great, we really enjoyed our time there despite winter weather.

The only bad points would be that our room was on the 4th floor without any elevetor, but it seems that all old Hanoi building are the same.
And secondly, we booked one more night at the hotel to stay after our Halong Bay Tour. When we arrived, it seems that the room has not been booked properly and hotel was fool. However, they give us a room (with same price and conditions) at their neighboor hotel which is in the same group but a little bit more expensive.

If we go back to Hanoi once, we'll definitly stay there again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the back (not on the street).

“Staff very friendly, but the cleanness”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

The toilet is quite clean, good wifi, no elevator, but the bed sheets and the towels are horrible black, i would say dirty, i was not even sure they where fresh or perhaps from previous guests . also the bed sheets are smaller than the bed so if you move a lot while sleeping you will finish directly on the mattress. But the worst of all are the kitchen fumes inside the room, from the morning to the evening you will have the smell of fried food in your nose and in your cloth. They have the kitchen directly at the reception and all the stink goes directly upstairs, really bad. In the other hand extremely friendly staff, with good English. The hot water in the shower last only 3 minutes, not more (impossible to wash my hair) and you have to wait minimum 15 minutes before taking one in order to heat the water. Good position in the center of the old quarter. I would not recommend this hotel for more than one night, only in case of emergency. I would like to give them more point because of their friendliness but sadly that's not the most important thing when you look for an accommodation.

Room Tip: Top floor. although there's no elevator you will avoid the noise from the street and maybe also...
