“An oasis within a city on spin cycle”

WARNING: I am about to say nothing but great things about this Hanoi Elegance Ruby and its top notch staff. My girlfriend and I were on a 4 week trip around SE Asia and throughout our trip we stayed in all kinds of places. Some upscale and some very basic. Without hesitation, I would say the customer service and care we received put this hotel in a class of it's own. Upon arrival to the hotel, we were greeted with a nice tropical beverage and a moist towel. The staff were eager to get us situated and accomodate any request we had. The hotel is not that big which makes the treatment more personal and comfortable. The rooms were very elegant and clean. They had decorated our room with flowers. Nice bathroom with modern decor and great shower. Also provided, a laptop and wifi.

On to the excellent breakfast we could not wait to have each morning. There's a basic menu which offers familiar yet tasty Western items as well as some delicious Vietnamese offerings. You can order everything off the menu and they would probably bring it to you along with a smile. The coffee was great, we averaged about three cups a morning each, which is what it takes to be on Hanoi time.

After a full day of hectic, no nonsense Hanoi, we felt good and safe coming back to our hotel. You forget what madness awaits outside when you are there.

Throughout our stay, we had all kinds of requests and they fulfilled each one to the best of their abilities. We knew where we wanted to visit and booked with the hotel based on recommendations from previous reviews. We couldn't be happier with what they put together for us.

We went to Sapa and they set us up with door to door round trip transportation to the train station, train tickets, a nice hotel in Sapa, a great tour guide, and a stored all of our big luggage at the hotel while we were away. We enjoyed our time in Sapa.

The hotel also arranged an excellent Ha Long Bay tour for us on a very nice boat. Again delivering us door to door, never once having to worry about a thing.

The trust factor goes very far and they never once let us down. We felt taken care of and looked after and could not stop talking about how great the staff were, throughout our vacation. Definitely want to give a shout out to the Customer Service Manager "Giang" for not only having such a great staff but also for everything he did in between. It felt as if he was everywhere, from pourring us more coffee, to bringing things to our room, all of the arrangements, and oversight throughout our stay. The Ruby Elegance really helped shape our lasting impression of Hanoi.

Our last night, we stayed and their sister hotel, the Essence and it was also a nice place to stay. I would recommend the Ruby, the Essence, and most likely any of the Elegance hotels based on our experience.

Thank you!

“Exceptional service, smiles and stay, believe the hype!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

The service compares more than favourably to 5 star hotels, book an upsrairs room, as in any hotel it's quieter, the little extra touches in the room were great, Ha Long bay tour organised easily through Ruby, and just a pleasure to return to the smiling team who were more attentive and thoughtful than most places on my travels, such fantastic value. If you can't stay here maybe try their other hotels all part of the elegance chain.

Room Tip: any room 3rd floor or above (1st is reception - 2nd and first level of rooms is a little noisy)

“Just Book It”

If you are considering staying at the hanoi Elegance Ruby, Just book it. Save yourself the time. It is as good as all the hundreds of reviews say. It has all been said before. You can expect exceptional service and value for money, in a Boutique hotel amidst the charm, hustle and bustle of the Old Quarter. It is walking distance from restaurants, shopping and the heart of the city, the Hoan Kien Lake. We travelled with children (range 3 - 11 years).

Room Tip: Rooms on higher floors have a balcony.

“A rare gem”

When the taxi dropped us off at this Hanoi Hotel, the neighborhood made us skeptical. Once through the doors the doubt fell away. The service provided is 5 star. The rooms were narrow on our 6th floor but everything is provided including a laptop with free Wifi. The beds were a little hard but the bathroom was outstanding. The breakfast was outstanding. The service on our departure day was outstanding - they own a hotel shuttle bus for the 50 minute ride to the Airport $US18). On balance a very impressive hotel at $US55 a couple.

Room Tip: Beware of the one armed rickshaw driver who touts for business near the Mausoleum. He is crooked...

“Great!!!”

Great staff, rooms, breakfast is yummy. Not one fault or bad thing to say about this hotel. We are here at the moment & will be staying here two more times on our return from Sapa & halong bay. We have not found more better value for money than here & a similar hotel in Australia would easily be $300 plus!
