“Hanoi accommodation”

Location: Phoenix Hotel – Hanoi
Remarks: The hotel is located in the old area of the city with easy access to all Hanoi tourist attractions – night markets basically around the corner. Hotel staff were courteous and helpful providing information, directions, arranging transfer to and from the airport at a rate that is a bit dearer than a taxi but hassle free and no worries about the rip offs associated with taxis. The hotel will arrange tours if required. This hotel is not pushy and does not hard sell their tours etc The breakfast is ample – eggs (scrambled, fried or omelette) ham or bacon, bread roll & unlimited tea or coffee and fruit to finish off. The hotel itself is aged and could do with some maintenance. Our rooms were comfortable and clean and good value for the money. Free computer with internet was provided in our room. Our room was a superior room, I don’t think the standard rooms had computers. There is free access to several computers in the reception area. Even though it was good value for money, I would probably look elsewhere for the same price if we went back to Hanoi.

“clean-good value for money-friendly staff-well situated”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

Just a small, decently run family hotel. The rooms were perfect (really, not as we have encountered elsewhere in Vietnam...) and the bathroom was clean as well. The staff was friendly and very helpful and correct when booking our trips to ha long, taxis and so on. The breakfast is ok (try the banana pancake). Walking distance from the hoan kiem lake, and in a nice little old quarter street . To conclude: a very good value for money hotel

“Turned out to be Great!”

My husband and I were sent here when the GH we'd originally wanted was full (despite forward warning that we were coming). I think we got a better deal out of it though. The staff were nice, but not overly friendly. They were not pushy about tours and left us alone. The room was nice and clean the the bathroom didn't get all wet when you showered as there was an actual separate shower room. We had some problems with the A/C, but they were on it and had it fixed as soon as they could. Breakfast was decent - it was quite nice to have tea and coffee available right there. It would be even nicer if they'd have that available for more than just the morning. We started our Vietnam trip in Hanoi and I'm writing after we've finished the whole trip. So, in hindsight, this place was very good. We got a good rate of $14/night, but the room was an interior one - no windows that opened to the outside.

“Phoenix is a perfect place to start your trip to Vietnam”

In short, the Phoenix Hotel is a perfect place to launch your holiday in Vietnam. Kalvin and his team were absolutely exceptional in recommending excursions and setting up everything we needed for our first couple of weeks in Vietnam. Prices are inexpensive and the service in exceptional.

“Great location and good service”

If you are planning to spend some time in Hanoi I strongly recommend to stay in this hotel. Really good service (the staff is really helpful), good breakfast, free coffee all day, clean rooms with AC but thigh one for a couple, but still okay and free wifi. The price is the same as others if you really want to stay in a comfort. The location is the best one, you can walk to the market (10 min), Ho Chi Minh Museum and Mausoleum (30 min) and the lake.
