Like most websites and reviews, one cannot grasp the true grandeur of this hotel until you are there. The secured grounds and high set landscape of this hotel overlooking the lake is already a great feature. The interior decor of its French-colonial history is not only elegant but inviting. Furthermore, the hotel is extremely well manicured and maintained. I couldn't find a stain on the stair carpet nor a wear on the numerous chairs scattered about the library and Fourier. The dinning room is elegant yet comfortable being surrounded by natural sun light during the day and soft lighting at dinner. The table settings for both lunch and dinner is crisp and opulent. The napkins are carefully folded and neatly starched. The food is worth the money and attention. Do eat here if you enjoy a break from the traditional Vietnamese food during your visit. The French fusion with a touch of the local cuisine is very well done. But if you want a bowl of Pho at 2 am, the room service will gladely bring one. As with all historical hotels, one must appreciate the amenities and historical correctness of its decor to truly live the moment. Don't let the mirror or bathtub distract you from this moment. Imagine yourself living there in the 1900's to truly appreciate what a beautiful, opulent, and foremost elegant this hotel offers. I hope this hotel never changes because it will be the centerpiece to my 2-week visit to Vietnam. I congratulate the staff and managerial team for maintains such a magnificent history of Vietnam culture.
