I have been in many many hotels, staying for both work and leasure. I was 'forced' to book a room here due to the bangkok flooding which have driven everybody to Pattaya causing almost every hotel to be fully booked.

The Crown Beach is bad in every way possible:
1. The room.
Everything is old, very old and in poor condition. The door is opened with a key and not what is the good standard today, with a keycard. Bed is a joke, must be as old as the hotel.
Bathroom is horrible and the showerfixture hadnt been cleaned in years, with half the holes clogged up with calcium. Water beam is all over the place.
Toilet is of the type with a 3inch lever you push down...except this one you have to hold down for a good 8-10 seconds before it actually flushes. Unacceptable.
Room has NO amenities. There is an old and very noisy refrigerator and thats it! - not even a spoon can be found.
The in-room aircon doesnt function properly and is very noisy. Set it to 30 degrees which is max and even then it was very cold.
The entrancedoor is not only thin as paper but also has a gap in both ends, allowing all the noise from the hallway to be heard. THAT noise is described later down....
Room is not clean and overall it appears dirty, worn and not pleasant.

The NOISE at this hotel is so loud and totally unacceptable - the central aircon is very loud and apparantly placed somewhere on the 7th floor. Very disturbing.
Even more disturbing is the cleaning staff that have cellphones ringing CONSTANTLY when they walk up and down the hallways. That very very loud ringing tone can be heard from early morning til late afternoon. This interrupts any normal beings sleep at night.

Staff is not very helpful and appears very indifferent, they dont seem to care about anything. Ordered food once in their restaurant and it took them 25 min to serve me fried rice w/chicken and 3 eggs.

Internet/wifi - No.

Working environment with a table and decent chair - No.

Pool area is 'just' a pool, nothing else.

Crown Beach is very old and I can not in any way recommend it. Its lifeless. Choosing this hotel can only be for the young clientel who just wants a bed and a place to crash, with no intention of staying or eating at the hotel.

I can only give it lowest rating - 1 star.
