“wonderful honeymoon”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 April 2009

My husband & I both had a wonderful honeymoon here. We lived in a beach hut, just few steps from the beach. our hut was in the shade. The hut has nice lighting. Very private & NIce set up. Free hired of Bicycle in the resort. Breakfast is GOOD! Away from the city. We bought the internet time from the hotel, but couldn't login. Just miss this place!
Hotel Taxi to Bangkok Airport is overpriced!

“Stinky, Dirty Pool Towels”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 August 2008

Although this place has some good natural assets, there are some issues that the hotel needs to address:

1)The pool towels were filthy.
We noticed that after drying off, we stunk. I smelled the towels and they had a sour, mildewy smell that became worse when wet.
I checked the “clean” towels that were stacked up, and they all had this dirty smell. Apparently the hotel decided to save a few pennies by not laundering pool towels. Since people dry off their underarms, and sweaty, suntan-oiled bodies, ears, mouth, groin, rear-end and whatever else imaginable with pool towels, this is not only disgusting but unsanitary, and makes me to be concerned about what other hidden cost-cutting measures the owner may employ here, such as in the kitchen.

2) There was a gap at the top and bottom of the door of our bungalow large enough to stick a finger in, and so the next morning, we had more than 20 mosquito bites each.

3) They stack up the beach chairs and take them away just after 4 pm, when there is still over 2 hours of daylight left. We prefer to go to the beach as the sun is going down, and then there is no place to sit.

4) The beds are very hard.

Sunset Village has some good things going for it, but if the sanitary conditions are questionable, its not a place that we want to come back to.

“Almost 4 stars”

Very good hotel. Away from the bustle of Pattaya, very calm secluded place. Water is much cleaner than in Pattaya, though far from being clear. Centre of Pattaya is in approximately 20 minutes, and there are free hotel buses twice a day.

We lived in beach bungalows - separate spacious cottages, few steps from the sea (but on low tide few steps become few hundreds of meters!).

Very good and solicitous staff, constant sincere smiles, fast solving of all the problems. When entering the bungalow, staff members take off their shoes.

Breakfast is delicious and diverse. Vegetables, cereals, scrambled eggs, thai omelette, pancakes, wafles, very spicy rice with chicken or pork, fresh fruits - papaya, pittahaya, pineapple, melon.
For dinner there is no buffet, but menu is huge, with rather low prices.

“Bangkok weekend getaway”

Stayed here with my significant other in February 2006. It took awhile to find, being off the main drag, but was worth getting lost for.

We booked late and it was a little bit of a hassle when we got there (1.30am Saturday), but eventually they sorted us out with a garden room, which was kind of rundown and had two single beds instead of the double they said they could give us.

The subsequent nights were better as they moved us to a beachfront suite which was everything you'd expect from a beach bungalow - light & airy, little timber deck, banana chairs etc.

Breakfast was included and was pretty extensive, the beach was quiet and private, the restaurant had excellent food and the staff were really helpful. We had a car, so it was easy to get into Jomtien.

It's better to book online - at least 500bt cheaper online. We paid about 3500 per night for the room.

“Relaxing on th deck”

Great Resort, about 15kms from Pattaya, if you are into the Nightlife scene, this is not for you. If you won't a beautiful Beach, quite laid back. Excellent choice. Make sure you pick a Bungalow on the beach front, these are a little more expensive but you will be kicking yourself if you dont take one. Beaches clean to swim, not the same as Pattaya. Excellent food at the Restraunt, we even had dinner one night on our deck of our Bungalow, the staff brought everything down to our room.
You will enjoy.......
