Although this place has some good natural assets, there are some issues that the hotel needs to address:
1)The pool towels were filthy.
We noticed that after drying off, we stunk. I smelled the towels and they had a sour, mildewy smell that became worse when wet.
I checked the “clean” towels that were stacked up, and they all had this dirty smell. Apparently the hotel decided to save a few pennies by not laundering pool towels. Since people dry off their underarms, and sweaty, suntan-oiled bodies, ears, mouth, groin, rear-end and whatever else imaginable with pool towels, this is not only disgusting but unsanitary, and makes me to be concerned about what other hidden cost-cutting measures the owner may employ here, such as in the kitchen.
2) There was a gap at the top and bottom of the door of our bungalow large enough to stick a finger in, and so the next morning, we had more than 20 mosquito bites each.
3) They stack up the beach chairs and take them away just after 4 pm, when there is still over 2 hours of daylight left. We prefer to go to the beach as the sun is going down, and then there is no place to sit.
4) The beds are very hard.
Sunset Village has some good things going for it, but if the sanitary conditions are questionable, its not a place that we want to come back to.
