“Rat in the Toilet”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

My wife and I stayed there in September 2011 and were allocated a bungalow by the pool.
It was ok but needed redecorating.
The worst part was when we woke up at about one am to find a rat in the toilet bowl trying to get out. I tried to flush it but it kept swimming back up into the toilet. One of the staff came eventually to fish it out with a plastic bag.
This was a very traumatic experience, especially for my wife who was reluctant to use the toilet after that.
The restaurant was also a disappointment as the staff allowed a cat to wander around under the tables and beg for food from your plate.
I fount the tailor shop at the entrance a bit of a pain as the tailor kept on at us to buy clothes from him. he also took us on a free sight seeing trip which I found was not only against the local laws but he was on commission from a jewellery factory and they try to pressurise you into buying diamonds and precious stones, which he obviously gets a cut from. I was surprised he was allowed to carry this on but no one seemed to stop him.
The hotel manager also turned a blind eye to guests bringing back prostitutes and rent boys who were even sharing the pool in the day time.
All in all a very dissappointing hotel where I would never return.

Room Tip: get on the upper floors if you need to stay here.

“Excellent place to stay”

I loved this hotel and loved Pattaya. We only had 3 nights there and wish it was longer.
We had booked a Superior room, but once we arrived there we didnt like it as it was way out back of the resort. No problems the staff gave us a Bungalow overlooking the pool. I would not stay in a Bugalow again, but would book a standard room, which all overlook the pool.
The pool was massive. It was always a good temperature to swim in. The only annoying thing was the other people staying there (mainly Russians, about 95%) would hang a shirt and towell on the umbrellas and pool chairs at 6am, but not turn up to the pool until after lunch or later. Then they would leave their stuff there again and go out in the afternoon. Solved this problem, threw their towells and shirts onto the lawn area. And used the umbrella and chairs that I wanted to use. Thought the hotel should do a better job of policeing this.
Huge variety of food for breakfast, but all the hot food was stone cold. Not good at all. Easily solved if the hotel would put lids on the dishes.
We had a few problems with the elctrical system in the bungalow. When we informed them they came and fixed it.
We met a wonderful local staff member at the hotel. He is an absolute assest to this hotel. His name was "Post". He was always asking if we were ok and if he could do anything to help.
Even introduced us to another Aussie family, as I thought we were the only English speaking people there. Feel strongly that Post would make a great PR man for the hotel.
The resort is in an absolute fantastic location. Short walk to the roundabout which has the dolphin statue where all the 10 baht buses are going in all directions. Mini-market across the road from the hotel. Also a laundry and a few restaurants.
5 min walk to a supermarket called "Best". Also sells alcohol.
We would absolutely stay at this hotel again and would recommend it to everyone.

Room Tip: Book a standard room overlooking the pool.

“Nice peaceful setting, great pool and friendly staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 November 2011

Just stayed six nights here on holiday.

This hotel has a lovely setting, although in the city, it is off a quiet side street and is designed in such a way that you feel you are not in the city; the pool area is lush, nice and big with lots of green plants and trees in every direction.

During my whole stay, I found all the staff to be very friendly and helpful.

I found the bedroom was starting to look tired, especially the bathroom. Having said that, I found the large bed very comfortable and everything in the room worked as it should. The individually controlled air con was super cold as was the mini fridge in the room. I also found the sound proofing to other rooms and the corridor to be above average and I was hardly disturbed by noise when in my room.

My only other disappointment was the buffet breakfast. Compared to others, it was a little limited in the choice of foods. There was no change each day in selection available and the bacon was cold and disgusting!

Overall, I had a lovely stay here and it represented excellent value for money. For the same price I paid (£41 per night including b/fast), I would certainly go back.

“Good location, family oriented.”

We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite and the room was very generous and well equipped, although old. The gardens were lovely and gave a good outlook from the room. Big bathrooms and a great shower.
The pool was lovely and surrounded by lots of mature trees providing shade if you wanted it around the pool and in it. this resort is popular with families. All the guests bar us were Russian or European so the only english spoken was by the staff. This meant no socialising for us.
The food was average and catered for european tastes with lots of salad and cold cuts of meat, heavy bread, limited cereals and they ran out of bacon on two of our four days there. The tea and coffee tasted foul and we ended up going up the street to the French Patisserie instead. 5 mins walk to bus and local shops and restaurants (cheap). Bus 10B and 10 mins to Walking St. Beach nearby, about a 5 minute walk (lots of steps) but it is very rocky. There are chairs, shade and drinks available for a cost.

Room Tip: The family suite was large and had a kitchen with large fridge and a microwave. We were taken to a r...
