“Not what was expected.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2011

Negative atmosphere, moody unhelpful, ignorant staff, crap food (imagine a kebab salad dressed up to look like a caesar salad), on a dirty road with stray dogs, villas are side by side with locals houses who talk loud outside until late.

Didn't sleep well all week. The promise of peace and tranqulity is ruined by the very noisy pool pump which it situated right below our bedroom window. It starts at 7am. The en suite bathroom pump also makes large banging noises throughout the night (at first my wife thought we were being broken into!!).

The decor is old fashioned and rooms are sparsely furnished. No chairs on the balcony, no chair in bedroom to put clothes on, nothing to put your toothbrush into in the bathroom.

In the fridge you get 20% apple juice from concentrate, which sums up the whole place.

If the service people were motivated or bothered it might make this place bearable but it's hard to enjoy somewhere that you feel you are an extra burden.

Mutton dressed as lamb.

“Contrasted feelings. Feeling of cheap”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

Upon check-in, I was requested, either to sign a document allowing unlimited charge of my credit card, or to proceed with a security deposit of Baht 5,000 (USD 170 approx). Not the nicest welcome, indeed....
I had booked a Grand pool villa one bedroom (which is, in fact, a three bedrooms villa which doors of bedroom #2-#3 are locked !)
The hotel isn't built within a large land property, but with small houses along small public streets, quite unusual. So you may have a private villa next to your pool villa. Since frame/windows are quite cheap, don't be surprised to be woken up at night by a ioud noise, such as motorbike going fast, etc...
Upon arriving to the villa, the cleaning system of the pool was broken, and overall, despite the fact this resort is supposed to have opened only 3 years ago, it seems maintenance is really very poor, lots of things are not working properly, air conditioning is very noisy, etc...
Still, the villa is large, clean, peaceful as promised, and the place is relatively comfortable.
Except: matress, cheap and hard, pillows (same, cheap and hard).
Piping is not working that well but ok, not such a big deal.
The sofa in leaving room are not very nice either. Finally, the best place to seat is on the floor.
Amenities are poor (not even cotton buts)
Breakfast is really cheap and bad: bit of steam rice, fried potatoes, sausages, a bit of sliced bread with VERY cheap marmelade... that's about it, no fresh coffee, chemical orange juice, that's all what you'll get, so it's just good if you are really hungry.
The place is far from the noise of the city, which is is great to my view.
But there is no beach > Nearest beach is about 2 km away
Say: it's a relatively nice place to come over with friends for one evening or two, eventually partying, but it's not the right place if you aim at a quiet pool villa with good service next to the sea.
A bit overpriced as well to my view.
Staff is average, not unfriendly, just not really concerned.

“Relaxing resort experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 October 2011

I stayed at Palm Grove Villas with a couple friends of mine back in July and it was just as I was told it would be and quite more as I need some peace and quite. Very relaxing and exclusive with lots of friendly people just like a community home back in the States. They have a great private beach and the 3 bedroom villa with its own private pool which was perfect. Definitely a home away from home and the prices are reasonable.

“Great Romantic Resort but close enough to the city should you need it”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 October 2010

Had a lovely stay for two nights. Staff were very attentive and caring without being in your face. The rooms are truly five star not top four star.
The location at first seems a bit far out of town but it isn't. It is so close to their own lovely beach and just 15mins into the city shoudl you need it.
The Elephant cafe is a great little eatery which I would describe as one of Thailands best kept secrets.

“Lovely Accomodation but a bit far from everything”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 October 2010

We stayed in a 3 bedroom villa with private pool. The apartment is double storey therefore quite hot upstairs which means you need to leave the airconditioner on 24/7. There are no shops nearby for any necessities such as cereal or milk. The restaurant and room service is reasonably priced compared to home - but probably expensive compared to prices in Pattaya. The resort offers a taxi service into town for 500 baht each way - but if you walk to the main road and hail a baht bus its only 20 baht per person to get close to town and another 20 baht per person on the baht bus to take you to the sea front and shops.
We stayed for a week and found out on the last day -that we could have hired a private taxi for 1200 baht per day or 7000 baht for the whole week to have a car with a driver- that would have been well worth it. The resort and really all of Pattaya is not geared up to provide tourists with information on available tours. We spent approx 1 hour with a private driver on our last day and found out more about the town and how big it was than we did in our whole week here.
Apart from that the apartment is lovely and has nice furnishings, tvs, sound system. The laundry service is quite reasonable - but for a longer stay i would have liked our own washing machine at least.
If you want a nice place to stay away from the crowds and want everything done for you then this would be a good choice
