Stayed for a week over Christmas and as has been said before - a great place to stay with friendly owners and staff. Free drop off and pick up from the airport - even though the plane was an hour late. Free drops back and forth to Lamai were great up to 9.00 p.m. DVD's on tap for the odd days when the beach didn't beckon. Food was good - especially the bacon butties for breakfast!
Everything clean - including the pool and Angus and Hom were SO helpful in booking trips and advising us where to visit. Laundry service was cheap and quick, 'mini' bar in room was fantastic for when the nibbles strike at night!

spent Christmas week at Samui Reef and had booked because of the reviews on trip advisor and were not disappointed with our stay..
The rooms were clean and large with a dvd player in the room so you dont have to hire a player from the desk if you are a bit worn down and just fancy relaxing one evening or morning.
only free transfer i had during my 5 week stay in thailand so was very pleased to be collected from the airport as apposed to being left to the clutches of the more expensive airport taxi mafia..
Food was really good and not expensive.
the laundry was the least we paid in Thailand at 35 bht per kilo as apposed to 50 bht everywhere else.
free drop and collect to the local beach and shopping/drinking area till 9pm each evening was also another nice touch..
I think this place was the best value stay i had during my trip..
if your expecting the Ritz then pay the extra money and go and stay there..
on a bit of a budget and want somewhere that they remember you are the customer and the person on holiday then stay here.

After reading the reviews on TripAdvisor, I contacted Angus many months ago to enquire about a 10-day stay in October. He replied within the hour and I duly booked a room and free transfers from and to the airport. We were looking for somewhere quiet and were not disappointed. On our arrival at the airport, somewhat later than scheduled, Lom was waiting for us and drove us to the Resort.

The room was large, sparsely furnished but perfectly adequate for our stay. The shower was the first one I have come across in Thailand that maintained an even temperature. If you hung the 'please clean the room' sign on the door, the girls were soon there, otherwise they left you alone. The internet connection worked as advertised.

The Resort is about 500m from the main road running around the Island with several restaurants and shops within easy walking distance. A free ferry service to and from nearby Lamai Beach was available up to 2100 hrs, I believe, if one asked.

We took advantage of the Resort restaurant for most of our breakfast and evening meals. A wide choice was available. The food was well-cooked and tasty and could be adjusted to individual requirements if one wished.

We hired a motorcycle from Angus for most of our stay. Inexpensive, it enabled us to explore the Island at our leisure.

The pool was clean and convenient to use.

Angus and Family made us feel very welcome. Nothing seemed too much trouble and their local knowledge was there for the asking.

The service at this hotel is non-existent. The food exists, but only just. The situ is very nice, but the hotel itself leaves so much to be desired. We couldn't wait to leave.
