We stayed at the Iyara in Jan 2012 for 4 days. Very nice hotel with helpful staff.

The rooms were clean and bathroom was a decent size. We had a small issue with our phone, It was recieving calls that were being dialled to room 128 which was odd, every time reception called 128 they got us in 127.

We got upgraded for the last night as we had a noise issue with next door. Very happy with the resolution.

This Hotel has a great location at the Chaweng beach and I recomend you to take one of the four Beach Cabanas (807,808,809 or 810). The other Cabans is not worth its price.
The hotel will soon be in need of renovation of both floors and bathrooms, which pulls down the review. The standard price of the rooms are high, but you can haggle the price down to a third of it if you're lucky. The breakfast is just acceptable without surprises. The pool has a wonderful location by the beach but the beach shower is useless. Behind the hotel is the shopping plaza, but many stores with high prices and lazy staff. This hotel is not suitable for families with small children.

I'm an experienced traveller, i've been to Thailand twice, stayed in luxury and stayed in not so luxurious hotels!

Hotels on the islands, are not like most hotels, they are basic, rooms, resturants (maybe)

The room was lovely, very large, and clean, aircon, mini bar, TV.
Shower was powerful

Resturant was okay, nothing fantastic but food was nice

Staff are young, i did worry cos the reviews i'd read before we went. However, they were great and helpful, no quarms at all

Pool was constantly GREEN disapointing with the lovely blue sea backdrop behind it!

Beach was nice, and you do get bothered by the sellers but they are lovely, they leave you alone or just chat, no pressure.

Massage on the beach for a few quid, lovely!!!

We ate at other hotels who have their resturants on the beach, at night. That was great, we sat at the front, the water lapping up to the table!

Lovely Island not lots to do but relax... shop a little, nice bars & resturants on the strip

We stayed a few nights, then went to Koh Tao, we came back to this hotel because it was so nice and in a good position

There are sooo many hotels to choose from in Koh Samui that it was hard to choose where to stay for our 4 nights in October 2011.
Im glad i chose the Iyara Beach Hotel, the staff were fantastic and extremely helpful, especially the front desk- they organised takeaway breakfast for us on our early morning departure which was great!. the rooms were clean and tidy with the usual amenities and the bed was comfy too. The location of the hotel is very convenient and only a hop, skip and jump away from all the action, but far enough away from all the noise.
Overall our group had a great stay here
