“Good location, fair service and room quality”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

Our experience at DeNaga was very middle of the road. The staff overall was nice, but weren't up to the same standard as other places in Thailand we traveled. The biggest disappointment for me was the room. It was dark and wasn't as clean as I like. The toilet was difficult to flush and the bathtub hard to get in and out of. The wifi was nearly useless as it was out most of the time or extremely slow. The bed was very comfortable. The concierge was great. She helped us book some great excursions and even helped me with a recommendation on where to get my hair colored and she wrote out a note for the tuk tuk driver and hairdresser to help with the communication. The breakfast that was included was fair in quality and service. Initially when booking, my expectation of breakfast wasn't that high, but after experiencing other hotels of similar price that included breakfast, this one lacked. The location was fantastic near many temples of walking distance, laundry a 2 min walk ($3 for a med bag..they washed and folded), a night market and loads of restaurants. Pool has limited sun.

“a bit pricey but good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

We stayed there 2 nights beginning of January. The best rates are through the website, much more expensive if you try booking through e-mails directly with them. The super save rate is still quite expensive for thailand.

The room is spotless, especially the bathroom.

The breakfast is delicious. Very healthy and most things are homemade.

All staff are very pleasant and everyone that we encountered during our stay spoke fluent english.

The location in the city is great.

“Excellent location and value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012 via mobile

Overall my daughter and I really enjoyed our stay last week. We were greeted in a very friendly manner and check in was very fast and smooth. We were upgraded to a larger room which we really enjoyed as we were there for five nights.

The location was excellent as it was an easy walk to the Tha Pae gate and then on to other attractions like the Night Bazaar and the Sunday Walking Street for shopping and The Chiang Mai Women's Prison where we had lovely massages.

The breakfasts were plentiful and it was lovely to have someone there to cook eggs to order. We also had some very nice food at the De Naga cafe at the end of the drive and some lovely pizza from the little Italian restaurant also at the end of the driveway.

The only small complaint with the room would be that we were on the ground floor next to the wooden stairs and next to the pool so at night when people came in late it was very noisy as they went up the stairs. Next time I would ask for a room upstairs to avoid this problem.
The pool was very small and I didn't see anyone swimming in the five days we were there but it was a nice place to just sit and relax.

I would definately stay at The De Naga again if I return to Chiang Mai.

“Not what we expected.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

We were pleased with the location which is perfect for touring around the city. But I am afraid to say the rest did not live up to expectations. Our room 317 overlooked a building site!! The pool was slightly green and the hotel reception staff did not speak very good English.
