“Great Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

Hi Guys,

I spent 1 week at Bodhi Serene in an Executive Room in Jan 2012.

Pros:
Location, right in the historic town, close to Thapae Gate.
Room was big, with a balcony, water everyday, huge bathroom with a big round bath & a shower. It was clean. The swimming pool area is very pretty. Drinks at the pool are more expensive but still ok. The breakfast was nice & the staff helpful & nice. Beatiful green gardens.

Cons: there are many cats in the gardens, On our 1st night a cats fight kept us awake.
You have to come early to have a free sun chair at the pool.
No fitness and spa at the hotel but so many things to do outside.

“Just a fantastic place with superb service!”

My wife and I stayed at the Bodhi Serene from 2-9 Feb. This is a quite outstanding hotel and we loved it there. It is an oasis of calm, and as the name suggests, serenity, in the heart of the old town. Facilities are great, the rooms are very comfortable, clean and stylish and the pool and tropical gardens are just beautiful.

However, what makes the Bodhi Serene so amazing is the first class service. The staff are wonderful and made us feel so welcome and special. The charm, kindness and friendliness of everyone their is brilliant; from the ever-helpful and smiling Pang at reception to lovely A and her colleagues at breakfast, the whole team were superb. We will definitely return and recommend this hotel with confidence.

“Wonderful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

We stayed at the Bhodi Serene for three days. A bit out of the way but the hotel and staff made up for the inconvienence. Just a wonderful, wonderful place.

“A very cosy boutique hotel”

My first impression was the communication from Bodhi Serene was very fast, reservations answered e-mails within a day sometimes.

Upon arrival we were greeted by two very friendly staff in the evening, check-in went fast and smooth, we were escorted to our room and were explained where things were and how things functioned. The room had a round big bathtub that you could easily fit two persons in, it also has a open window if you wish to the room so you can enjoy a movie while having a bath.
The bed however, is quite hard if you are not used to hard beds, for Europeans it might be too hard but for many Asians it is very comfortable. I am not sure if it is possible to change the mattress to a softer one.

The best of all was the service, almost every staff was very helpful. The tour desk is super nice and usually very welling to help you with your trip. For Christmas eve they had a small party with Christmas carols and some finger food and cocktails. This was all free of charge compared to resorts that force you to join a gala dinner for over priced dinner.

However, the bad part about the hotel is the food, breakfast was mostly cold, even bacon and all the warm stuff. They could reheat it if you ask for though, also you can get special orders as warm coco :)

Menu for the restaurant is quite "tacky" looks very cheap but the food is very reasonable priced but not very good cooked for 4* hotel standards.

Either way I was very happy with my stay and I look forward to return upon next trip to Chiang Mai.

Room Tip: Pop the Champagne and enjoy a romantic time with your partner :)

“good location for exploring the old city”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 December 2011

The hotel has quite a large compound, nice layout and has a rustic feeling in the room. I stayed in the suite, which has a very large tub, and spacious. The bed however is a bit hard for my liking, and the first night I came in, there were a swarm of mosquitos greeted me. They do have an electric mosquito repellent in the room, but I had to call room service to spray the room. Breakfast option is a bit limited, and service can be a slow at times. Location of the hotel is very good to explore the old city.
