“Great Location & Staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

Has been a couple of years since we were last at Manathai -.Village. With this trip a bit rushed we missed our preferred option of Ping Nakara. Manathai is a very central small hotel with sprawling Thai style bungalows. Our room a junior suite which was a little dark, being ground floor and lacked ventilation as no windows. Small by todays standard but nicely appointed even if now getting a bit worn. TV poor quality even though had DVD player and good channel selection. We thought DVD we brought were doggy but it was the TV…ouch embracing Bed was a killer for me as they have changed since last there and I did not sleep well. Staff attempted to assist but to no avail. Staff generally very helpful and management friendly. Breakfast good selection but hot food not hot. Overall priced about right against increasing competition with newer fittings but if your after central location with shops abound a great choice. But for the bed would highly recommend and stay again but frankly still getting over it

Room Tip: !st loor away from road side a good choice

“Beautiful small boutique hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

When we first walked in I was extremely impressed, the decor was stunning. We were given drinks and towels and shown to our room which was lovely! We had an outdoor desk over looking the pool, four poster bed, all mod cons, lovely bathroom with stand alone bath and huge shower, you could borrow DVDs which we did one night, the room was small but so beautiful and we were only staying 3 nights, so it didnt matter. The pool area was small and quiet and the food and drinks were quite expensive but very good quality cocktails and they even gave us friend chicken to go with our drinks free of charge! The food was nice too! Perfect location, right in the middle of everything and Tuk tuks were pretty much outside the hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful, although on check out they did try and charge us for water we didnt drink and I had to get cross in order to sort the problem out. Also we were promised from Turquoise Holidays that we would get a honeymoon cake and flower arrangement which we didnt get which was a bid disappointing, I told them about this and they said they were not told it was our honeymoon - hmmm!? I expected a free drink or apology, but didnt get one. I did love this hotel though and would highly recommend it as a bit of luxury when staying in Chiang Mai!

“Felt like a celebrity!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

Traditional Thai decor and a beautiful swimming pool is what greets you on arrival at Manathai. Stayed with my 13 year old son and we felt like celebrities with the fantastic service including a lovely welcome drink (some sort of exotic juice) and chilled towel folded in the shaped of a flower - so elegant, so charming. Rooms were a little small but quaint with a rustic touch and the bathroom was unique - rustic taps and concrete bath. Breakfast was an elegant affair with buffet style choices all beautifully presented and market fresh. Tropical garden featuring many flowering plants, orchids, palms etc gave the ambiance a lush exotic touch. My son loved the computer room with free wi fi. In a word: charming!

“Went for dinner in the "hotel restaurant" and was pleased but not overwhelmed”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

The hotel/resort looks really nice – right from the entrance from the mysterious little street the open house reception gives you a great lounge like feeling that is extremely comforting/welcoming.

Everything is kept immaculate and thought through - there is very little to flaw on appearance .

The restaurant however has two problems – on the food side everything is OK – but bland lacking nerve – this is a shame because you really want to find the place sympathetic – and still it is just too bland really really bland – which is really a shame.

Secondly there are massive amounts of mosquitos - our children came home looking like a boxing match after spending 2 ½ hour in the restaurant – it is really nice with all the running water in the facility – but without massive amounts of chemicals it is just so aggravating that you would rather be without the water if that meant saying goodbye to the mosquitos.

“good atmosphere and location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

Beautiful place in a very good location. Not so secluded that you feel like on another planet. Nice to have breakfast by the small pool.
