“Excellent ervice, friendly staff, enjoyable stay!”

My family of 6 stayed in the family hut for over a week. We enjoyed the personalised service of the owners. These folks will bend over backwards to make your stay comfortable. During our week + stay, they purchased a crib for our toddler, a coffee pot for our room, arranged multiple tours, helped us order pizzas and taxis, assisted us in retrieving lost articles from tour buses, and gave advice on excellent restaurants and sights to see in Chiang Mai. The huts are simply furnished. If you are looking for a quiet, rustic setting with no noise or television, clean sheets, hammocks and fruit trees, then we heartily encourage you to stay here! Our children appreciated the freedom of exploring the gardens around the gated property and playing with Sumo, the gentle shepherd mix who lives there . The Boat Village is a five minute taxi ride or a 20 minute walk from local downtown markets. It has good security - ie locked gates - at night and the owners live on the premises. A full, hearty breakfast served at your convenience every morning. The open air restaurant is only open for breakfast. We would definitely stay here again.

Scorpion is an excellent place to stay. Everything is really clean and the staff is the most kind staff you can imagine. If you like a quiet accomodation in a green surrounding you must come here to stay. If we come back to Chiang Mai we will stay here again.

“The Great Escape from city life”

It was a great experience staying at the Scorpion Tailed boat Village hotel. Not far from the city central and yet you feel you are living in the forest. The feeling of the very old days living style of the Thai people in these huts is just wonderful. At the nearby on the river edge you will find the best Thai food cuisines restaurants ever.
The Staff at this Hotel, Mr. Samak and his wife Mrs Mei were friendly and very helpful to us. We also had the best river tour on the boat arranged by Mr. Samak for 500 T.B. each. and learned about the rich history and the culture of the Thai people and the past kingdoms of
Chiang Mai.

“An oasis within a city”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 May 2010

The village is located on the bank of the river about a mile outside of the city. It is a fairly easy walk to Chaing Mai. For those who wish a more urban setting with immediaste access to town, , I would recommend something in the city. However, for those travelers wishing a cozy, quiet, peaceful place to stay, this will be hard to beat. Each bungalow is spacious and clean, with ample hot water, small refrigerator, and air conditioning. The husband and wife owners of the village speak excellent english and go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. They are also excellent resouce for activities within the region and willl assist in setting up any trips or visits to local sites. Their friendly and helpful manner set the tone of the Village. Each bungalow has its own patio, shaped in the form of a scorpion boat. This is where an ample breakfast is served and where I spent a good deal of time reading, chatting, and enjoying the beautiful surroundings. If we travel to chiang Mai again, the village will defintely be our choice for lodging.

The traditional mud huts added to the Thai experience. Very friendly, helpful and informative staff who would do anything to make your stay more enjoyable. If in Chiang Mai again, i would gladly stay there again.
