“Fabulous and cosy guesthouse, great value for money, fantastic staff and in a good location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012 via mobile

This is a fantastic little guesthouse and perfect for travellers on a budget. The staff are excellent and helped us out organising hiring a motorbike, our days trekking and many more things we asked about. Even helped us with the next part of our trip into laos!! We only booked 2 nights initially but stay for 5!! Plus there is a beauty salon next door and I would reccomend a massage, it was lovely!

The rooms are clean and the guesthouse is in a fab location! There are lots of cute little cafes, art shops and restaurants along the road and it's next to the river. Only 10-15 min walk to the centre so its ideal. It's also peaceful enough than staying right in the middle of the city!

I would def recommend this place and hope to come back soon as we loved Chiang Mai!

“Fantastic hostel in Chiang Mai”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

We had a great stay at Parami. The owner, Roger, and the staff are so friendly and welcoming. We had a double room with fan and en suite bathroom. The room was big and clean. The hostel has a lovely garden area where you can eat or swing in a hammock and a cute fish pond with stepping stones to get to the rooms!

Great tour booking service at the front desk, Wi-Fi throughout, and a tab system - where you pay for your stay, tours, food and drinks (which you help yourself to from the fridge and keep a record in a notebook) at check out.

A little outside of the main town, but an easy walk (20 mins or so) along the river. Some nice places to eat nearby, and close to the Night Bazaar.

On our last day, we checked out at 11am but our flight was not until 9pm. We were able to leave our bags securely locked at the hostel while we went out for the day, and returned later where we were told we could still use the Wi-Fi and sit in the garden, and a taxi was called to collect us at 7pm to go to the airport. Perfect!

“Bad Service”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

We had to leave our room in 30 minutes, because we didn't confirm our stay the night before. While at checkin we did say that we would most likely stay longer than the initial 2 booked nights, and the houserules on the door state that we had to confirm CHECKOUT the night before leaving.
When we explained our frustration, the hotel owner started a debate about running a business and we were offered a much more expensive room.

Room was ok, many mosquitoes.
Distance to the old city is conciderate (+ 30 minutes walk to the border of the old city)

“Great Hostel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

The rooms are spacious, clean and they provide a decent wifi connection and a computer in reception. The receptionist gave great service and was always going out of her way to help, she arranged for our motorbike to be dropped off at the hostel which meant we could be on our way first thing. The hostel is not right in the centre of town, yet is within walking distance but to really explore Chiang Mai it is best to hire a bike. Just down the road there are some really nice restaurants and a couple of lively bars. Although breakfast is not included we ate here everyday as they provide a great selection and you can conviniently charge it to the room and pay for everything at the end of the stay.

“Budget, Great Value and Friendly!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 December 2011

When we booked there was a bit of confusion about the rooms which resulted in me having to move rooms after my first night but this wasn't a problem at all and the facilities more than made up for the oversight.

I had a air-con room which was brilliant, airy and open. The staff are all really friendly and they offer a travel agency service so you can book your tours and trips direct with the front desk. Location is brilliant as it is only a 10 minute stroll to the outskirts of the city or a 5 minute tuk-tuk ride to the centre. The guesthouse is very clean and quaint and I would not hesitate to visit again!
