“Fantastic stay in the center of the city”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

We stayed here for 3 nights while on a two-week trip through Thailand. This is definitely a 5-star hotel and the quiet, peaceful setting of the property is definitely a nice contrast to the bustle of the city that surrounds it.

The pool area is nice (though the water is set very cold), the restaurant is great and reasonable for dinner, the included breakfast and service is first-rate, and the staff is generally attentive and nice. The free wifi was a nice plus.

For Thailand, the hotel did seem a bit more on the pricey side, but we were told this was partly due to high-season. In general, we had a great stay.

“Rachamankha -- a jewel in Chiang Mai!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

A second stay for us and just as good as the time before! Food is delicious! Rooms had very comfortable beds and exquisite furnishings, many from the owner's collection of Thai and Chinese antiques. Many original paintings in the rooms and common areas come from a talented community of artists throughout Thailand. The most memorable part of our stay was the service and warm welcome from owner Rooj and manager Paul and their very professional staff who are committed to providing personal service to their guests. We're coming back!

Room Tip: Both times we stayed in the garden suite. Next year, the suite is already booked, so we have select...

“Lovely peaceful hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

Staying at hotel for 5 days, 4 girl friends. Very peaceful hotel located in the old city only about 10 minutes by car from the airport. We had a beautiful 2 bedroom suite with a verandah, kitchenette (glasses, plates, sink, microwave etc), open mini bar of water, soft drinks, beer, chocolate, snacks. Helpful staff with organising drivers and tours. Will also phone for taxis or tuk tuks for you. Also a shop and gallery to view. A beautiful eating courtyard, Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Food was delicious with a musician playing traditional Thai music in the background. As mentioned, wifi not great all the time but they have 2 computers in the library that can be used. Pool lovely location but a little cold, swam anyway. Fab spot for massages above pool area. Worth while. A great way to unwind in Chiang Mai before undertaking tours and the visits to the markets.

Room Tip: stayed in a suite and had the use of minibar, private verandah near pool. Very spacious.

“Christmas at Rachamanka”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

My husband and I spent 4 days at this lovely hotel over Christmas 2011. Excellent location for walking into town and enjoying the night markets and Sunday walking market. Christmas Eve dinner was excellent....romantic outdoor setting in the courtyard of the restaurant, with carol singers too!
Traditonal architecture makes this a very special hotel, simple and elegant. Pool area very nice, but with a slow service for food and towels

I left an earring at the hotel and emailed the Manager but didnt receive a reply, which was disappointing

“Brilliant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

Another memorable stay in Chaing Mai. The hotel staff, lead by Paul was yet again outstanding. Food, service & accommodation was as usual high standard. We stayed in the garden suit for seven nights which was very comfortable. We’ll be back!
