“Very Good Hotel- Great Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

Thsi hotel is in a great location- easy to get to the historic walled part, just five minutes walk ot the night market and right across the street are a reasonably priced laundry, a message parlor and a 7/11. A very short distance to the left are located a great restaurnt- Whole Earth (?) and an internet place charing just 20 baht for an hour and selling great milk shakes. The hotel itself has a huge lobby and good rooms, with hard beds and somewhat stained carpet. The breakfast buffet was quite good and overall service good.

“OK except two things...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

... the hotel lobby is great, the rooms would need a bit of a refresh, but it was spacious and the bed was fine. Just three things:
- upon arrival to my room I noticed a used chewing gum stuck on the wall of the room, quite difficult to miss, and quite disgusting. Apart from that the room was clean.
- the TVs are old small CRTs, my remote was repaired with a piece of old tape, and the reception was quite poor
- the in-house tour agency: reception is very nice, prices not on the cheap side and tours quite "touristy", so I would advice one or two days with the agency (for laziness and peace of mind), the rest with song taews, a good guide and the tripadvisor iPhone app

In short: overall good value for money with nothing outstanding apart from the lobby :-)

Four of us were there for five nights in mid Jan. 2012. We were happy with everything - good buffet breakfast, polite staff, kettle with tea & coffee in the room.

“Better Value and Better Hotels Around the corner”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

Do yourself a favour and choose another hotel, we had to come here for one night before leaving Chiang Mai because we couldn't extend our awesome stay at Raming Lodge.

The hotel is close the night bazaar you just go left out the front and then hang a right up the road and that's your there, but there are other hotels closer and better than this one. Plus its a fair walk to the old city for sunday walking street and the various other things to see and do there.

Hotel staff don't really care or wish to help you in any way. They talk about you in Thai as you stand there, its blatantly obvious when you ask a question or they are checking you in and the male would say something to his female counterpart and she looks over at us and giggles.

Asked for wifi - not working. The prices were not worth it any way, there own staff member advised us to go to the internet cafe just to the left of the hotel. The room was clean but
looked that it hadn't had an update for 30 years or more.

Booked a airport transfer for the next morning at 11am, came down at 10.50 to be told that even through we had booked it last night it was now full and we had to get a taxi. I saw they had just scribbled our names out on the sheet, the obviously had some more important group to transfer or pick up.

Wouldn't stay here ever again and would definitely not recommend. There are plenty of other, better options.

travel date: 21st jan 2012.
plus point: as above. lobby is huge 2. staff r friendly. a stone throw away fr night bazaar.
-ve point: this hotel is really old.... in-room tv is ancient box type 15". no tea bag, only coffee. receptionist gave me a double bed room although when checking in he told me its a twin bed.
