“STAY here for an overall wonderful experience”

My husband and I are experienced travelers and definitely know a good hotel when we see one. We found that Siripanna exceeded our expectations. The hotel is the essence of luxury and tranquility. The staff were completely hospitable, the rooms are spacious and clean and the grounds are stunning. The breakfast in the mornings was delicious and more than the typical pastries, fruits and cereals. While the hotel is a short tuk tuk ride (200 Baht) from the city centre we never found this to be a problem. Now having visited Chiang Mai, I prefer to stay away from the old city.

“STAY HERE if you're after luxury, wonderful staff, and convenience to the old city!”

My partner and I stayed here recently for approximately 5 nights, and I didn't want to leave! When we arrived we were greeted with a refreshing drink and a member of reception spent time showing us around the property and informing us it's various facilities. You are also offered a complimentary 10min neck massage at the spa, however my partner and I actually forgot to do this as we were so busy seeing all the sights! The grounds of the resort are extensive and beautifully maintained. The housekeeping is also fantastic and each night our bed was turned down and there was an orchid and good night message left for us.

We were surprise by how many activities were also available at the resort, including meditation and cooking courses. For 1500 baht I took a cooking class. You can choose two dishes from a set list. I guess as no one else wanted to take the class on the same day I ended up having an individual tutorial with the executive chef, then my partner and I sat down to eat the meal after!

Our room was very large, including a massive and extremely comfortable bed. The bathroom included a large shower, twin sinks and a deep round bath.

The resort is located just over the bridge from the old city. A tuk-tuk into the old city costs 100baht so it's close and inexpensive. We actually hired a moped for our stay and we were in the city in less than five minutes.
It was nice to actually get out of the hustle and noise of the main city and cross the river each night back to the resort.

Breakfast at Siripanna is amazing! The chef makes eggs, pancakes and waffles to order. There is an abundance of western style or more traditional Asian foods on option. The coffee here is also great. The best thing about breakfast is however the staff, who are accommodating, warm and eager to make you start your day well. Although my partner and I would often straggle in with a few minutes to spare before the end of breakfast, the staff were always welcoming and we never felt rushed. One staff member named Long was particularly warm and helpful!

I would definitely stay here again! If you are looking for luxury, delicious food, convenience to the old city, and warm and attentive staff, stay here!!

“A great travel experience”

We are an older retired couple and travel extensively. We have stayed at a variety of places, including some widely considered to be among the world's best.
We found Siripanna to be one of the loveliest and most beautiful resorts we have experienced. We stayed for a week in Feb. 2012 and found the room to be very comfortable and well designed, the service was attentive, friendly and helpful and the food outstanding and reasonably priced. There are even rice paddies on the property and they serve their own organic rice; guests interested in the local culture are offered the opportunity to plant and/or harvest the rice from the paddies in the back part of the resort.
The pool design was the most aesthetically and interesting man-made swimming areas we have ever enjoyed.
The food was lavish, delicious and artistically prepared and presented. the amount of work that must be involved is impressive: many items were virtually tiny jewels that could have been laid out for royalty. Another delight was a combination of Thai and other Asian influences combined with subtle and appealing western ones in the food, the design, music, etc.

“A Fine Oasis”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

The Siripanna is just a few kilometres from the centre of Chiang Mai but that means you get away from the noise and bustle of the city and into an oasis of a hotel that literally has many water features. The staff are super-polite and extremely helpful in all aspects. The room was clean and spacious and had a beautiful terrace - it was on the ground floor. The pool is unusual in that it has a swim lane that is a square with the sunbeds in the centre. The ride into town by tuk-tuk costs only 100 thb though there is a daily shuttle bus running to the night market, and you find your onw way back. The only negative point I experienced is that a single person (me) is placed in a room next to a couple with a small child, which woke yelling at 5am. The sound wasn't helped by the adjoining door between the rooms. I think that with a little care, hotels could avoid this situation at check-in. On that subject, though I would definitely recommend this hotel, be warned that it seems to be populated entirely by romantic couples. I feel that with the early bird offer of advance booking, I had a great deal at this hotel, $110 per night. It really is a very classy establishment.
