We stayed for 3 nights and had a fantastic time. Yul is a great host and a highlight is cooking with him and having dinner for a very nominal price.. The rooms are lovely - spotlessly clean and the bed is the best we have had in Asia. If we come back to Chiang Mai we would certainly stay at Tonnam again. It is a little gem .

I went for a 4 nights stay at this place with family. The experience was as homely and warm as going to a brother's place. Yul is a great guy and very hospitable host. A small group of people with him manage the place very nicely. You never feel to be in hotel. Yul advises you on almost every dos and dont's and you feel as if you belonged to the city from years.

The property is perfect with the rooms and amenities of best quality. The swimming pool in the center of the cottages is the star attraction. The jacuzzi, steam bath and sauna adds on. The river front property is very scenic and serene. The whole property is made in traditional Lanna style wooden work. Even the bathrooms are a different experience. The food is great, from American breakfast to the traditional thai specialties anytime.

Yul arranged us a car to take us around Chiang Mai which was another excellent experience. This guy made sure that we are seeing the right places according to our interest.

I would highly recommend tonnam to any one going to chiang mai.

We stayed at Tonnams for 5 nights (after moving on to Bangkok and Krabi, wished we had stayed longer) and it was the highlight of our whole trip. Yul was fantastic with us- taking my partner to play golf and teaching me to cook. It is such a shame that Cecile was out of the country- look forward to meeting her when we return! The homestay was excellent value, Yul's hospitality was incredible, the setting was simply stunning and the food was divine. As good sleepers we did not hear the road that others have mentioned, but did hear the occasional firework (it was Thai new year after all!) The staff were wonderful, nothing was too much trouble and we really felt that we experienced authentic Thailand. Our room had the outdoor jacuzzi, which we thoroughly enjoyed and everything was spotlessly clean.
I could write an essay on our stay but the words would not do justice to how very special our time was at Tonnam.

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Tonnam Homestay for 5 days and loved everyday of it. Yul picked us up from the airport and took us to the homestay, which would have been quite a hassle by taxi. The accommodations are very nice and the whole homestay is very relaxing and comfortable. For a small price you can join Yul for meals to. He prepares fresh dishes each night and even let's you help him cook the authentic Thai food. It's really wonderful and well worth the extra cost. They also offer breakfast which consists of toast, croissants, fresh fruit, juice, coffee, etc with a great view. He also helped us figure out what some good options were for exploring around Chiang Mai and called a taxi for us, which picked us up from the homestay. We especially enjoyed the pool located between all the bungalows. It was always clean and cool, which was a perfect reprieve on the hot days. Good way to get the day started!! We had an excellent time and were glad to have such a wonderful host.
