“Excellent place- highy recommended”

I have stayed at Awana countless times and I find it the most pleasant, clean and comfortable guesthouse I have come across in Chiang Mai.

The service is great and very professional. I never had any problems. The staff is always very friendly, helpful and welcoming which creates a really nice atmosphere.

The prices are very reasonable, the decoration very tasteful and the beds are very comfortable with good quality mattresses and pillows.

The beautiful rooftop terrace with tasteful seating arrangements, including a huge daybed and direct views to the mountain Doi Suthep is priceless. A perfect spot to relax, see the sunset and have some quiet time.

I highly recommend it to everyone!

“Another stay, loved it again”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

This time we booked only for 2 nights, due to a short stay in Thailand, we chose Awanahouse based on our first great experience, and it proved to be on the same level again, so we were really satisfied. The room was very clean and big enough, street view but quiet enough to sleep well. A/C working properly, provided additional fan can be very useful. Bathroom in very good conditions.
Staff helpful and very kind as always. Ron is a great person to talk to, always with a huge smile on his face, and very very helpful. We missed the Bo Sang Umbrella Festival because there must have been a change in their schedule, moving the festival forward by one week, while we booked in November for the week before, and he did his best to reasearch for the right dates while we where there. His attitude to helping guests is an added value to the stay, always ready to give the right suggetions at the right time.
There's also an Awana massage shop right in front of the guesthouse.
Massages are fairly priced and, yes, you must give them a try !
If we were to come back for a third time we would definitely choose it again and again.

Room Tip: Rooms with mountain view are a little bit quieter

“Great price, great place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

Great accommodation in a good location, well worth the price, rooms cleaned daily, big and spacious, bathroom could do with some work but nothing that's a problem, staff on reception very helpful and can help with booking tours, rooms have a safe and keycard electronic gate entrance to awana in evenings. Enjoyed every minute, was on the ground floor and could hear some noise from reception, people coming/going and builders outside as building work was taking place as stated on the website, so rooms on next floor may be better to stay but again nothing that was really a problem though. Would definitely come back!

“Great location and lovely accomodations at a very reasonable price!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

I recently stayed at Awana House and ended up extending my stay another night for the pure appreciation of beautiful and cozy accomodations with a very attentive and kind staff, not to mention the central location to everything in Chiang Mai. The owner, Ron, was so helpful with recommendations of places to visit during my stay and even went the extra mile to give me a personal scooter ride to a restaurant he suggested for my last night...and it was delicious and the perfect atomsphere. I hope to return to Chiang Mai again sometime this year and will definitely be staying at the Awana House! Often full on accomodations because it so so fantastic and affordable, so I do suggest calling ahead to check o availability.

“Great experience, good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

We have been at Awana House for 7 days now and becuase it was so busy we have moved a few times, but that was because we liked the place and didn't want to try anywhere else. The girls at the front desk are very helpful. No, the food here isn't the best, but most hotel food isn't. There are great food options within a few meters of the front entrance. We have been in 4 different rooms and ALL of them have been very clean and well appointed. The rooms we were in include 303 (best an biggest of all), 206, 308, 305. All rooms have a fan, AC, TV with some good channels a nice floor length mirror, mini fridge and an electronic safe (that is included in the price). Room 303 had a four post king bed with mosquito netting on the bed a large bathroom and very nice balcony. Room 206 was slightly smaller room and bathroom, but still had a king bed (no posts, but still had a mosquito net hanging from the ceiling) a smaller balcony and TV. Room 308 was the same size as Room 206, but with two twin beds. Room 305 is the same size, just situated a bit differently, but has a bigger TV. As mentioned, this guesthouse/hotel is in a great location - just steps away from the Sunday Walking Street Market and Tha Pae Gate as well as loads of tour companies, massage shops, bars, restaurants, coffee shops, (but just a block off Moon Muang Road you can't hear the noise at night) very close by. I haven't been to the pool, but it looks very nice and clean and there is a lounge area on the top of the building to chill in the afternoon or evenings. I highly recommend.
