I recently stayed at the Ban Kong Rao. Inquiring about a booking less than 48 hours in advance, I was greeted with a prompt reply and even offered a discount! The staff are more than accommodating and assist patrons with any and all requests. After confirming my booking, I was emailed directions to the guest house in Thai, which proved to be incredibly helpful when communicating with my taxi driver. I arrived after the lobby had closed, but a guard greeted me and escorted me to my room. After mentioning that I would be traveling via bus the following day, the staff member searched bus schedules for me, advising me of my best options. I was overwhelmed by the quality of service! I must not forget, the room was spacious, clean and fairly priced. Overall, no complaints.

Friendly and helpful staff, wifi included, nice rooftop terrace, nice food. We loved our stay in Chiang Mai and Ban Kong Rao and would definatly choose this hotel again!

We stayed at Ban Kong Rao for a week and loved our time there.

The guesthouse has room service, terrific coffee, comfortable beds, free wifi and very friendly staff. The upstairs patio area is a great area to sit and view the city and sky lanterns in the distance.

The Ban Kong Rao is an easy 15 minute walk outside of the old city. All in all we would recommend it and stay there again.

I stayed at Ban Kong Rao with my sister-in-law from Sept 15- Oct 3 while visitng my daughter who is teaching in Chiang Mai. Picked the location because it was close to her apartment. The room was nice, simple, clean, had a refrigerator and a little walled patio (we were on the ground floor) They provided a new bottle of water each day. They have 2 computers at reception that guests have access to. A little oasis waits on the roof that the manager told me about. Great place to hang out and read. The people were very nice and helpful. Useful info - We got a discount on the rate because we were originally going to stay 14 days. Needing to extend it a couple of days, paying the monthly rate of 10,000 (about $300) baht was the way to go. It was our home away from home. Someone noted that is is some distance from the old town and that is true, but I rented a bicycle and got around quite nicely
