The Park Plaza is not only a lovely boutique hotel but also a great location, just off the popular Sukhumvit Road. Only a city block walk off Suhumvit, the location gets you away from the hustle and bustle of the busy shopping street into a quiet neighborhood of small hotels, restaurants and expat homes. Out on Sukhumvit, you have only a long block to the Sky Train that will whisk you in air conditioned comfort to most of the attractions in Bangkok or to the incredible shopping along Sukhumvit.
We loved the accommodations, the comfy beds, roomy bathroom, beautiful infinity pool and gym as well as the restaurant for the breakfast buffet. The breakfast included a wide variety of items catering to the needs of both Asian and western tastes. We enjoyed trying both. Omelets to order as well as Thai stir fry items, cereals, fruit, lots of tasty baked goods, cheeses and meats.
Very friendly and accommodating staff, reasonable prices and free wi-fi. What else do you need? We even found the small, family run Thai restaurant right next door served cheap, authentic, delicious meals, less than $2 a piece including the beverage.
We asked if we could extend our check out time on the last day and they allowed us an extra couple of hours so we didn't need to wander the streets dragging our luggage before heading to the airport.
