Had 2 nights here, wanting to be close to Khao San Rd but not staying in a grimy hostel. Whilst the reception/restaurant area give quite a pleasant impression, the room was far less impressive. On arrival I was told that they didn't have the original room I booked so would be putting me in a 'smaller' room. I enquired if this meant a reduced rate, it didn't but I could have breakfast free (turned out to not be a brilliant trade-off!).
The room was tiny and situated right by the lift/stairs so it wasn't quiet. On both mornings I could hear the cleaners phone ringing and every other guest traipsing past. You could barely see the TV even lying flat on the bed. Toilet roll had to go in the bin. One very small window with a blind that wasn't really long enough to cover it.
The restuarant area was quite nice, the breakfast not the best, but the staff very attentive. The pool area was okay, but quite small for the amount of guests in the hotel. Wifi only available on the ground floor.
The location is ok, about 5-10 mins walk from Khao San Rd so plenty of shops/bars/restaurants nearby.
The common areas show the potential of this place, but my experience of the room shows they need to do a bit more work.
