“Great location and facilities”

We used Trip Advisor's reviews when deciding to book this hotel.
Its great! Clean, great views, front desk staff are pleasant and the pool is wonderful. Price is good at 600 baht. There is a 24 hour restaurant attached to the lobby with mostly Thai food which is reasonable and tasty. We've returned here a couple of times now. The only down side is the internet in the rooms is sometimes difficult.

Room Tip: Ask to see a couple of rooms as some are being renovated..the higher floors have great views over th...

“Good value with free phone calls!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2012

Good budget accommodation with spacious rooms and...interesting surroundings. No real complaints, except for the inconvenience of having to get your keycard reprogrammed every day in order to enter your room. Location is good and close to Suttisan MRT station and a lot of massage/"entertainment" complexes. The eatery on the ground floor is open 24 hours, as is the adjoining convenience store. Your room is cleaned everyday, with clean towels and 2 free bottles of water provided each time. Voice and noises from the hallway tend to echo and penetrate into the rooms a little, but it's not too bad as long as you don't have inconsiderate guests on your floor banging doors and yelling.

The biggest bonus of staying here was the free local and international calls from the phone in the lobby. First time I have seen something like that before, and I was impressed.

“Pleasant and clean room.”

The Wattana Mansion is actually also an apartment with a swimming pool and located at Soi 17, Ratchadaphisek, to go here, take Exit 4 from the Suttisan MRT station, walk straight and then turn left after The Poseidon Entertainment Center,,, a huge place for massage and well, you-know-better. This is also the hotel owned by the same management that runs The Bangkok City Suite and The Bangkok City Hotel located in Petchbhuri and I arrived late on a Monday evening so I need to stay here before I check in at The Bangkok City Hotel the next morning. Check in was prompt, I was put on the 5th floor, the room faces the street but it was very quiet. There was an electric pot with 2 mugs and spoons provided along with 2 free bottle drinking water. The room was very clean, the lighting was okay and the bathroom was functioning although the bathtub came without a shower curtain but then, for 650 baht... it was no big deal. The next morning, I had a simple breakfast although I can only consume the bread and butter as there is no buffet breakfast, just 2 types of set breakfast so I was okay with that. The front desk was friendly and for waht I had paid, a bargain if you need to stay around this area which is well known for it's massage parlors and entertainment district... Poseidon Massage is just around the corner! I do not mind coming back as I find the swimming pool very clean and well mantained although finding Muslim food is a big problem. The hotel is well located near the Suttisan MRT station and from there, it takes a few minutes to travel to the Sukhumvit MRT station and from there, you can take the BTS from Asoke to the center of Bangkok. Highly recommended if you prefer to stay at a comfortable but quiet area in Ratchadaphisek.

Room Tip: You are given a key card which means that without that, you cannot enter the area where the 2 elevat...

“Very adequate”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 November 2010

I have stayed here in three consecutive years. Every room in this hotel has a little minor problem, they are slightly worn down, but if you do not mind the looks, it is a perfect hotel. Bed is good, bathroom has what it takes, open 24 hours, with your own keycard. The hotel kind of doubles as a brothel, by the way, but who cares.
This year I stayed here for the last time. I was tricked out of 500 baht in the hotel shop. Having given 1000 baht, for some stuff costing 180, an older woman at the counter passed the bill to the regular seller, who happened to be counting the register. She gave me back 320, claiming I had given her a 500 B note. Adding insult to the trick, she pointed to a 500 B note which was in the register, knowing very well she had passed my note to the other attendant. Well, she had me there. You do not feel like staying there in those circumstances, so I regretted to have to leave the place.
Completely adequate hotel, if you do not spend all day indoors, but need a comfortable place to sleep. Just be careful in the shop, show them big notes very clearly, so that they are recorded on the camera, and let them know you are aware of what you are giving them.
