As part of our honeymoon we stayed at the davis for 2 nights, we had the cheapest room, which was in the corner wing, which was basically a bit of a mistake! The hotel is split in two, the corner wing has a starbucks, rooms and reception and a small breakfast area, that is it. The main part of the hotel was much nicer! Big welcoming reception area, door staff etc, the swimming pool on the top of the hotel was really cool too, you can see all across bangkok and we had a nice swim and snooze after a hard days sight seeing! I was disappointed with our room though, it was nice enough on first glance, the bathroom had a glass wall so you could see through to the room which I liked and they had put rose petals in the bath which was nice, the room was clean and spacious and modern, but STANK of ciggarettes! It was so grim I couldnt sleep! I was too tired to complain on the first night, but I did complain in the morning and the cleaner did get rid of the smell, which was good and they put incence in the corridoor which also STANK! But the corner wing had a kind of seedy feel to it, I think it was the ciggarette smell and the red velvet curtains in the hall way! I would recommend the main section of the hotel, but wouldnt advise staying in the corner wing unless on a budget and you dont mind the smell! We also didnt see the Tuk tuk service at all and we didnt have anyone show us to our room or take our bags up for us, so the service was somewhat lacking in that respect. The hotel is on a busy road, so expect some noice, in terms of location, I am not sure how good it was really as we got taxis everywhere after attempting to walk around and they were always reasonable. There are lots of spas and restaurants around the road though, so I guess the location was as good as any!
