“Reasonable”

I stayed 2 nights at this hotel while on business in Bangkok - not as happening as my usual hotel in downtown Ratchaprasong area but it was closer to a supplier's factory. The hotel was nice to upgrade me to a large suite. Considering that I spent all day out of the room I would have prefer a smaller, more compact room with the work table in the same room as the bed. As a business traveller, the dim living room and kitchenette made me homesick! The suite was well furnished, room was clean and bed well-made. Breakfast was reasonable. I had no issues during my stay.

“Could be better!”

As part of our honeymoon we stayed at the davis for 2 nights, we had the cheapest room, which was in the corner wing, which was basically a bit of a mistake! The hotel is split in two, the corner wing has a starbucks, rooms and reception and a small breakfast area, that is it. The main part of the hotel was much nicer! Big welcoming reception area, door staff etc, the swimming pool on the top of the hotel was really cool too, you can see all across bangkok and we had a nice swim and snooze after a hard days sight seeing! I was disappointed with our room though, it was nice enough on first glance, the bathroom had a glass wall so you could see through to the room which I liked and they had put rose petals in the bath which was nice, the room was clean and spacious and modern, but STANK of ciggarettes! It was so grim I couldnt sleep! I was too tired to complain on the first night, but I did complain in the morning and the cleaner did get rid of the smell, which was good and they put incence in the corridoor which also STANK! But the corner wing had a kind of seedy feel to it, I think it was the ciggarette smell and the red velvet curtains in the hall way! I would recommend the main section of the hotel, but wouldnt advise staying in the corner wing unless on a budget and you dont mind the smell! We also didnt see the Tuk tuk service at all and we didnt have anyone show us to our room or take our bags up for us, so the service was somewhat lacking in that respect. The hotel is on a busy road, so expect some noice, in terms of location, I am not sure how good it was really as we got taxis everywhere after attempting to walk around and they were always reasonable. There are lots of spas and restaurants around the road though, so I guess the location was as good as any!

“Excellent Hotel”

Quieter area of Sukhumvit. Well appointed large rooms. Friendly staff. Would not say it was close to the BTS but the hotel Tuk Tuk takes you there on request without charge. Large choice for breakfast but not that impressed. Biggest gripe was the bed, VERY VERY hard. If you don't mind this then would be happy to recommend.

“My second home”

This hotel was intended to be a upper class gentleman's club but due to legal tanglements it became a hotel and I am so happy .
I have stayed in over 20 times since it opened for short stays of 5 days and long stays up to 90 days.
Located between Sukhumvit and Rama IV in the quiet soi 24 there is plenty of things to do within very close proximity. The hotel offers a free tuk tuk service to Sukhumvit and the BTS (monorail) is located a short walk away. Rama IV has two large supermarkets with Thai chain food places to eat. If like me you are staying for an extended period there is a laundry service on the next soi that is 60bht a kilo washed, dried and ironed :) If you get it in before 9am they will have it ready in the afternoon.

When working in Thailand I stayed at the Davis for several months and had rooms in the main hotel , the corner wing and one of the wonderful Baans. The Ambassador Suite in the wing had a huge Jacuzzi and sauna in the living room and was extremely modern and comfortable. My other room was the Davis Suite in the main hotel and I personally loved the fusion of modern and traditional design. The Baan (house) was for when the whole family came to stay and the luxury and opulence truly made the stay even more special for our teenage children. You would not know that the Baan was in the heart of Bangkok .
Our girls were ecstatic as the hotel had just filmed America's Next Top Model.

The restaurants in both parts of the serve a wonderful breakfast and lunch and the dinner buffet is excellent value for money.

As a long term guest who has stayed on multiple occasions I am treated like royalty as are my guest however from the first stay to the last I have always felt like a valued guest

Room Tip: Request a room in the Davis Wing if you want a quieter experience.
