Was recommend this, was advised it was a bit old and to be fair it is a bit dated, the pictures in the website show newer rooms, but I didn't see any of these. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable, bathroom could do with update, but hey how much time do you spend in there!
Breakfast was good.
When I checked out early they asked why I was leaving. They thought it was because of the hotel! I assured them it wasn't!
Great location, near 2 BTS stops and 1MRT stop, ideal to get to the airport via these routes, if u want good value, friendly staff, stay here!! If u want 5 star pretentious luxury don't!!

The hotel was really good, the quality of rooms and specially its located in the heart of Bangkok i.e. Sukhumvit. I stayed there for 2 nights with my friends in the month of October in 2011, the quality of staff was excellent. I remember the swimming area and the gym, it was under construction but the pool was open and it was awesome. I would say its a hotel value for money.

For the money the Manhattan is OK BUT make sure you ask to see the room before checking in! The condition of each room can vary vastly. This time the room was passable but the bathroom was in serious need of a complete reno. Time before last the room including the bathroom looked like it had had a bit of a facelift.
You can't beat the location of the hotel, it's really close to everything, the BTS, shopping, great eats and for all you party animals Soi Cowboy in one direction and Nana Road in the other.
We've been coming to Bangkok for the last 20 years and of course the cost of hotels have gone up, the first time staying at the Manhattan we paid approx. 750 Baht including breakfast. It's now difficult the find anything decent for until 2000 Baht and that doesn't always include breakfast.
The breakfast is fine, nothing special. We did find the restaurant getting quite expensive, for example the Pad Thai was 300Baht.
The hotel now offers free internet. We had booked in for 3 nights but the internet was not working properly so after one night we checked out as internet is critical for us.
With the inconsistancies of the rooms don't know if I'd pre-book anything again. I think we'd take our chances on a walk up.

Stayed there 2 nights and was impressed by the quick check in and allotment of rooms ( we were a group of 12 and booked 6 rooms and wanted them on the same floor ). The rooms were clean and very well furnished with ample room to move around .Room service was efficient and moderately quick . The spa was very nice and clean , though prices for the services were very much on the higher side . You would the same quality of services at spas /massage palors right outside the hotel . So it is not worth going to the spa there .
The best thing about this hotel is the location .very accessible and most of the places are in or around the area , like great bars , restaurants , shopping , night clubs etc . are stone throw away .
