Silom village is a comfortable hotel down on Silom Road half way between the river and Sala Deang BTS station. It has maintained its low key, family style for as long as I have been staying there since 2001. The staff is friendly and helpful. Not everyone speaks English but someone at reception does as do most of the merchants in the cute boutiques that surround the tropical outdoor eating areas. The rooms have large comfortable beds, with full bath. I like the new building, as its a bit more modern and set back from the street.. The Mon-Fri lunch meal offering is buffet style at just over a $1 per plate. Seafood dinner is more and geared to the nightly bus loads of tourists but you can find plenty on the menu and ask to have the chili adjusted to your taste. The rooms are always clean and housekeeping staff is always on duty. In the room is TV, with cable stations, a fridge and plenty of room! There is internet in the reception. Close by are many restaurants, and coffee spots including Starbucks accross the street and down a bit in Baan Silom. There is a Tops supermarket close by and a 7-11 next to the hotel. Its an easy walk to SuraSak station or a 40baht taxi ride to SalaDeang BTS/Silom MRT and the main Silom Road activities around Silom Complex. Silom Village is very affordable, clean and safe. Close to transportation, to easily access shopping at Siam Paragon,Central World etc. Lumpini Park is my favorit escape in Bangkok so its close to that too! Enjoy.
Room Tip: Ask for a room in the new building!
