I stayed at Royal City Hotel as it is only 10 minutes from Yanhee Hospital. It is an older, vintage but charming hotel. .If you just want a place to stay near the hospital this will meet your needs. I paid 1,526 Baht night. (50. US) peak season. I wanted a pool but as it turned out I didn’t have time to use it. There is a large pool complete with a big sun deck with sun bed chairs. The chairs are plastic with no covers so take a couple of room towels to lay on top. The sun shines on the pool all day.
The rooms are spacious and clean. Don’t expect a view out the window as this is a Thai residential area with a couple of office buildings. I wasn’t here for the view. There isn’t an internet café in the area, no bars, no 7/11 stores, no night market, and no Dept Store.
There is a small size safety box with a good key system near the front desk. English stations on the TV. The halls do have a stale smell and no A/C but the rooms are fresh with an A/C. If it’s an issue- Westerners don’t usually stay here. This is where many of the Korean Tours are bused in.
Do avoid the food as it’s bad. There is a street stall of chicken sate that sets up right outside the hotel at 8:15 AM. Other street stalls set up later in the day 1/2 block to the left beside the Institute of Culture.
There is also a small, clean fitness room which opens at 7 AM. There is a universal gym, 2 sets of weights, 2 bikes and 2 tread mills. *Fast and easy check out.
