“loved it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

I was there for a day and I really liked the hotel. The check in was quite quick (under 5 minutes) even though it was quite busy. I was dreading the whole you-need-to-tow-ur-luggage-from-one-tower-to-another bit because I was dead tired. But the hotel staff helped me with the luggage right from when the taxi stopped to delivering it to my room. Besides the difference between the reception tower and my tower was a just a few metres, probably the same as the large lobby of a 5 star hotel. The dining and lounge area in my room was huge, twice the size of the room itself!I had chosen a standard room since I was travelling alone and the size was ok for 2 ppl.The bathroom was sized ok. The room,hotel..all of it was pretty clean.
Loved the pool on the 11th floor, next to the bar.Plenty of dining choices in and around the hotel. lots of fresh fruits available in the market downstair. The market downstairs was pretty cheap. My main reason to stay in this hotel was because it was close to the Grand Palace...it was about 60 Bahts one way. I would love to stay again here. Not one con in my short stay.

“Huge”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

This is a huge hotel. After checking in the receptionist only streched here arm to the right to show us the direction where we had to go. Well this meant, thru a halway, outside, along the pool into another building passing the Japanese restaurant and there you found the elevators to your hotel room... The rooms were nice, clean. Airconditioning made quite a noise. No free WiFi (600 THB per day). Breakfast was good, Thai but also breads, jam, scones, eggs the way you want, sereals, fruit. The only public transport way to get to the city center is the boat taxi. But this only runs till appr. 18.00 hours. Returning after this time means taking tuk-tuk or taxi. We have not found nice restaurants in this neighbourhood. The bar at the poolside is very relaxing in the evening. There are sunbeds around the swimming pool but they are placed very close to each other.

The service in the desk reception was very low!! In the rooms there is no windows that you can open!! You can't enjoy the view or smoke even in a smoking rooms!! In the bar hotel the prices are very high!! And even there is no free wifi on the lobby..you need to pay about every breath you take in this hotel!!! Don't like or enjoy at all!!! There is much better hotels in Bangkok...go to another!!!

We stayed at the Prince Palace Hotel for 3 nighs at $55/night.
The hotel is very nice, some of the deco is dated but everythinh has good quality, very clean and very comfortable. Staff is very kind and helpfull, breakfast buffet is very good, nice swiming pools and beautifull views especially at night.
You will need to take a taxi to go anywhere.
Overall excellent value for your money.

Room Tip: Room facing downtown or the golden mountain have nice views

“Beautiful hotel with average amenities”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

The lobby is decorated very nice but the rooms are only average. My boyfriend and I stayed at the Prince Palace in Tower B which is the new tower in a suite. The rooms are air conditioned but it was not on when we checked in so it was musty smelling. The rooms were somewhat clean but not up to my standards, it looked like the rooms were just lightly cleaned with no elbow grease. Also there was no hot water in the morning for showers so both days we had quick cold showers.

The pool is nice, refreshing and windy. We never ran out of towels but there was limited lounge chairs so if you want one you have to get up by 9am to save them. At the pool bar very few staff are friendly, most don't speak english so it was difficult to order food. We tried to order food with extra sauce but they didn't understand. The gratuities are built in to the bill but the staff expect a tip on top. We did not tip extra since the service was poor and we didnt get exactly what we wanted. The morning buffet is extremely busy, it took us a long time to get a table, we both got up for a second round of food and came back to our table to find our drinks cleared and new people sitting there. It took so long to find a new table my food got cold and I had to get another helping. I reccommend going to the buffet around 8am-9am to get hot food and to find a table. The food at the buffet was ok, bacon, eggs, ham, thai food, fresh fruit, soup, rice. We were able to fill up but it wasnt spectacular.

The internet was not free, it was 150 Baht for 30 mins.

The location was ok, but there was only a wholesale clothes market close by. If you wanted food you had to take a taxi to eat, other than eating at the hotel.
