“Nice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

Nice big rooms, which lovely views of Bangkok (if your room is high enough).

Nice breakfast buffet, and a nice lobby which makes this hotel look very grand!

However, not one of the best locations, but the train station is not so far away, just 5/10mins walk, so you can get around ok. But in the evenings around the train station it is very very busy, hold on tight to your partner if you don't want to loss them!!

O nearly forgot about the pool.....NICE...but the opening hours I feel are not long enough!

Room Tip: Don't get the tuktuks from outside the hotel, they are very expensive!

“Ok for the price but awful location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

The hotel itself is well maintained, rooms are a decent size, bathroom lovely but the beds in my twin room were a little small. The breakfast buffet was ok at best with some of the most awful coffee I have encountered. Staff in the restaurant and bar area were lovely. The door man is particularly delightful. It is irritating that there is no free wifi and when I enquired about buying a card to use wifi in the lobby I was told I would have to wait 15 minutes for a manager. Anyway cheap and comfortable Internet access can be found if you come out of the hotel and turn left, the first Internet cafe you will see is 20 bhats/hour for 1 hour but not as good as the second one (I think called Game Internet) which is only 15 bhats/hour. The big downside of this hotel is the location, it is beyond gritty! Also many taxis from the centre do not want to travel out to take you home. It is near Victory Mount so that helps in terms of transport and I walked home as a woman alone after midnight and felt safe but not enjoyable walking through all the grime. After 3 days at the hotel, I braved some street food nearby and it was excellent. The key to picking a street food vendor is to choose somewhere populated by the locals with no English menus. Btw those of you wanting a gym, check before booking it is apparently being renovated. However not sure what that means because we saw no signs of building work or any other renovations just an empty space.

“Great Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

Stayed 3 nights in Century Park Hotel. Stayed on the 20th floor and had superb views of Bangkok. The Rooms were lovely, Clean and reasonably spacious. Beautiful Bathroom. Loved the Elephant made out of face cloths! Breakfast was excellent. A little way out but a taxi was only 100 bht to the night market. The pool area was lovely and very quiet. I would recomend this hotel. The Hotel was totally non smoking, even in the outside pool area. There was a small area at the side, with no seating where you were able to smoke, This is the only thing i personally found a problem, I would never have smoked in the room but would have liked an area to sit, Other people said this too.The Hotel had recently been refurbished and was welcoming and lovely

Room Tip: Request a high floor for the view

“OK Hotel, but rubbish location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

This hotel is quite good, but the location lets it down. It's in a very ethnic part of town and my husband and I, on our very first visit to Thailand, felt quite intimidated on the streets, so did not eat out in any of the local "restaurants". In-house internet is expensive. We had a de-luxe room. The beds are a bit hard, and only one pillow provided on each, no spares. Plumbing is noisy, we could hear the toilets flushing in the adjoining rooms. Restaurant buffet sounds good, but the hot dishes were not as hot as they could be, so, for instance, the fried fish was a bit limp. Japanese sushi starters not bad, and salad selection fair. 2 complimentary bottles of water in room. Good group in bar, but nobody was in there, so it was dead in the evenings. The a la carte Thai menu was actually very good indeed. The swimming pool is small, but there are comfortable loungers, and the food served there is excellent. We had a very nice light smoked salmon salad. Very polite desk staff.

Room Tip: Above the 5th floor is best.

“Very good hotel with some buts”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

After two nights the A/C stopped working and we were placed in another room that was not to our liking, but then after complaining, we were moved to a room which was. The room was clean though dated, with some stained carpet Breakfast was very good, with a good selection and good omelets. Internet charge was very expensive so we went out the door and turned left, walked two blocks and found internet for 20 baht for an hour! Also, if you turn right and walk a bit (past two 7/11s) you will get to very good local restaurant, the building is indented, not flush with the street. You are 10 minutes or so walk to the sky train but why pay for that when cabs are so inexpensive and take you door to door. Just make sure you have them use the meter. So even though this was not really close to anything, it was easy to get around and a good choice.
