We recently spent two days in this hotel and the stay was enjoyable but not five star. Sorry. The lobby is very pretty but the rooms are just eh. We got upgraded to the 26th floor and got to ride special high rise elevators. Ooooh big deal. The room was very similar to the pic of the room we originally booked. Would have been best if there was a balcony since we did have a view of the river.

Room service was fast an delicious. Of course I had to order my american favorite--a cheese burger with fries. It was good but they put mayo on burgers here so that was gross to me but fine once I scraped it off and smothered it with ketchup.

The breakfast in the morning was wonderful. They had eveything you could ask for and a delicious selection of Thai styled pastries. Delish! A great way to start the day.

The shuttle boat was free and convenient to get to the sky train which is by far cleaner and faster than any NYC subway or path train you will ever ride. Be sure to hold on to the access card or you won't be able to get out! Lol

We took a cab to the night market one evening and it was fast and cheap. I would recommend this vs the sky train and night just for ease of travel but our tourguide said we could take the train there and a cab back. Make sure to tell the driver to turn on the meter bc they will "forget".

We were only here for two days so we didnt really explore what was around the hotel within walking distance but definitely would stay again.

My wife and I stayed five nights at the Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel & Towers in Bangkok in January, 2012. The room was terrific, and we were put on the 21st floor. When we arrived at the hotel at 1:30 PM in the morning, the person behind the desk came out and took us to our room personally, We had never had that happen before. The breakfasts were amazing, and in that part of the world the fruits were incredible. The location was superb, and the staff was always most helpful. We enjoyed our stay very, very much.

Had been there with a friend . We had a great stay . The hotel is located on the river . Most rooms have a great river view. The Bar at the lobby is good . We shall never forget the stay at this hotel

Recommend upgrading your room to an executive tower room (it cost us £50 per night) which gives you access to the tower bar on the 27th floor. In the tower bar you get a buffet breakfast, soft drinks all day plus alcoholic drinks and a buffet in the evening. This is worth the upgrade alone especially if there are two of you!
