“Cozy and Quiet”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

I stayed here for 2 nights. I am okay with the hotel location, though it's quite far from the city centre but, it was my choice to stay here.

The BTS Saphan Thaksin station is approximately 5 minutes walk from the hotel. From here, you can take the BTS to Siam Square (approximately 10 minutes), or change to another BTS line to either Mo Chit Station (Chatuchak Market) which takes approximately another 15-20 minutes from Siam station, or to Sukhumvit area e.g. Nana (which takes approximately another 10-15 minutes). You can also take the MRT line from the Siam Station. Airport Link also connect to the BTS Line from Phyatai Station.

The hotel service is at its best, like most Thailand hotel. They cater to your needs when you request from them.

There is a swimming pool and separate sauna rooms for men & ladies, which is at the 2nd floor.

Breakfast is provided at the cafe but i did not take the breakfast due to the absence of Halal Meals.

A walk from the hotel to the east side, you will find all the banks, thai cooking school, and even Malaysian Embassy.

A walk to the west, will meet you with a huge temple, university and local retail shops.

A walk to the north, will take you to bangkrak night market, Robinson Mall, shangri-la hotel, jetty to the chao phraya river cruise, massage parlors and local retail shops.

In overall, the location is okay. You can sleep well at night with out hearing any music from bars, or people shouting downstairs, or even cars honking. However, one minus point is that the wall is so thin that you can actually hear your upstairs neighbour flushing the toilet. But, it is not so rampant i suppose coz most of the time, we were outside.

For muslim, there are 2 small muslim vendors selling noodles next to the pharmacy, you will see them on your way to Robinson Mall.

Make sure you print the map in thai which is available at the Astera Sathorn website. It helped us alot when taking a cab from Nana or anywhere else back to the hotel at nite. Some of them may know but some may not, but one thing for sure, most of them can't really converse and understand English well.

After staying at Win Long Place 6 times in a Year. The last time was dissapointing.
The room stunk of Ciggarettes.
Despite complaining to the Managing Director the only thing that was done was clean and spay the air Conditioner and spay the room it lasted 3 days .we had to leave window open when we went out.
When i complained i ended by saying IT WOULD BE A SHAME TO HAVE TO FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE.
I think they should have given us another room.
We found another hotel last time The Astera sathorn

The Breakfast is Brilliant a good choice of food .The Omelletes are cooked in front of you
Ham,Cheese, chicken etc.a short walk from train station & Robinson Dept store and very resonably priced.
The staff are only too pleased to help.the porter always has a Smile on his face an asset to the hotel, lovely man.a gave him 100Baht tip the day i Left,he alway bought a smile to my face when i saw him.

“It's newly renovated”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2012

I stayed for one night. Got the smallest room of the lot. Staff were friendly, speaks English. Room and toilet was newly renovated. Free wifi. I got a cute room with cute coffee mugs. Breakfast was ok. No complains though i wished room can be slightly larger. Stayed at room 511. Bed is firm. New and clean bedsheets. Toiletries are complete. 15mins walk from BTS Taksin.

“Nice and comfortable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2011

The hotel is situated very close to public transportation and is thus easily reachable, although at first it will be difficult to find it, despite all the maps you might have. The rooms are large, and complimentary drinks and snacks are provided. The pool is really nice and alm ost always empty, and there is also a gym you could use. The breakfast is ok, with fresh omletts that can be prepared there.
On the down side, the bathroom products were not that great, and our toilet kind of leaked. The juices at breakfast were not really that good.
Overall, I would definitelly recommend this hotel, it is quite good and very well located.

“Small signage of the hotel, walkable to BTS, decent & clean hotel.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 December 2011

Good location, not very near BTS though, but still walkable (~300m to saphan taksin BTS).
GPS coordinates on booking.com is wrong, it should be about the middle between saphan taksin BTS & surasak BTS, not too very close to Saphan Taksin as booking.com displayed.

rooms are clean, modern, with fridge, safe deposit box and surprisingly free complimentary 2 mineral bottles, 2 soft drinks, 2 snacks in mini bar which usually you have to pay.
