“Perfect base in Bangkok”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

In the past few years I have stayed in many 5* hotels across Asia while travelling on business and the Dusit Thani compares favourably with any of them. While holidaying in Thailand recently we chose this hotel as our Bangkok base because of its central location and found it to be an excellent choice being adjacent to the Sala Daeng Skytrain station. It almost goes without saying that the Dusit staff were without exception excellent, courteous, friendly, and helpful. The public rooms are elegant, spacious, and immaculately clean and maintained. We had booked a Club room and on check-in were afforded the opportunity to upgrade for a very modest sum to a junior suite, which we did. The club serves complimentary canapes, light meals and drinks to members between 17:30 and 19:30 each day. We ate in the Thien Deong Vietnamese restaurant on the evening we arrived and were very impressed - apart from the wine (universally expensive anywhere in Thailand), the cost was very reasonable for a high-class hotel, and the food was excellent. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Dusit Club a worthwhile extra

“Disappoitment”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012 via mobile

I kept a good souvenir of Dusit Thani Hotel in Bangkok and I returned because of a prime location.
I was rather disappointed by the room standard. The bathroom is tiny with no space to place your own amenities. The room is large but deserves to be refreshed. The TV is outdated. The air con was too strong even at lowest power and I had to stop it several times to avoid catching cold during the night. Moreover I asked for a non smoking room and my room was smelling cold tobacco which was quite disturbing.
Food is generally ok but not amazing. Fitness club is good.
Next time I will try an other hotel.

“Service plus”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

I have stayed at this hotel several times on my travels and have found it to be consistently pleasant. The staff are always friendly and courteous - typically Thai! The service is impeccable and I would challenge anyone to find fault with the staff or service. Excellent memories and experience and will definitely be returning again and again.

Room Tip: I have experienced several different views from the rooms during the 4 separate stays at the hotel...

“Excellent position”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

Superb 5* hotel, excellent friendly staff, central location opposite a wonderful park.
The staff made us feel special from the moment we arrived - fantastic service with nothing being too much trouble. Very spacious comfortable room with AC and double balcony. Complimentary drinks and canapes from 5.30 - 7.30pm every evening. Huge selection for breakfast each morning and eight restaurants in the evenings offering a wide choice of cuisine. All very clean, elegant and stylish. A relaxing area around the swimming pool with ,of course, waiter service with free ice water and fruits. Sky Train station is just around the corner with Siam Sq. just two stops away. Markets and shops within two minutes walk as is Lamphini park. Bangkok, like most cities, is very busy and choked with cars but this hotel is a gem of an oasis amidst all the hustle and bustle.

Room Tip: Do not book a basic room which will be in a separate wing of the main hotel.

“An oasis of service and calm!”

We would like to thank all the contributors to Trip Advisor for their opinions which helped us to choose our itinerary for our recent honeymoon.
The Dusit Thani in Bangkok was our first port of call in Thailand and what a wonderful start it was! This hotel really know how to look after their guests from the very first moment you arrive. We found it to be very worthwhile to book a Dusit Club room from many perspectives. There is a dedicated team of staff who are well qualified to look after both business people and travellers alike.
Bangkok is an extremely busy city and the hotel provides a haven of tranquility after a long flight or a hard day site-seeing. It's situation is ideal as already identified by other contributors.
We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and if we could give it six star rating, definately would do! All staff are professional, curteous and polite and endeavour to ensure you are contented and happy. The standards throughout the hotel are superb. The breakfast is without doubt the best we have ever had in any comparable hotel. Dusit Club guests have access to the third floor club area which from 5.30-7.30 provides a complimentary array of snacks and alcoholic drinks for those who wish to use it. In addition, free internet is also provided throughout the day as are soft drinks.
The hotel faces Lumpini Park which is teeming with local people from 7am-9am and later in the day, taking part if a number of activities such as Tai Chi, Kendo, Karate, Yoga and even latin american dancing! It really is quite enchanting to walk around in the early morning. We were even invited to join in with the dancing, which we did and were given Guava and cold water to share.
If you are planning to visit Bangkok, please use the Dusit Thani, you will not regret it!

Room Tip: Try to get a room overlooking Lumpini Park
