“The best buffet breakfast in town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

Lebua at State tower is one of the finest hotels in the world. The moment you walk into the lobby, the smiling staff treats you like a VIP and attentively looks after your hotel check-in. It is an all suite hotel and the suites are nicely decorated with a kitenchette equipped with a stove, microwave oven, electric kettle and useful utensils plus supplies of teas and coffee. There is a balcony overlooking the city and the river. We had taken a river-side suite. The buffet breakfast has a huge variety of foods that its impossible to try out everything in a single short visit. If you are late for beakfast, you will have to wait in queue but the friendly staff will arrange for your table in a few minutes. The hotel staff wouldn't fail to greet you with a smile where ever you go. The conceirge is helpful and courteous. We took two guided tours of the palace and amphawa markets and were looked after very well. These tours are a bit expensive but if you can fit them into your budget, its worth the money spent. From the hotel, you can take a walk down the river, or the shopping malls and local shops. If you can grab a good deal for this hotel, do stay at this hotel on your trip to bangkok. We stayed here for seven days and felt like being home.

“A very good hotel with the most incredible open air restaurant!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

We stayed in the Lebua for 2 nithts and I and my wife choose the hotel because of the location and of the pretty architecture. We opt for a suite in a high floor and when we arrive, we frighten ourselves with the size of the place. Foyer, dining room, living room, suite of guests, washroom, kitchen with all the facilities, intimate hall, office and main suite. In the living room and in the main suite, two huge varandahs with a breathtaking view of the Chao Prhaya River. An interesting but unnecessary exaggeration, because we used perhaps 30% that was offered. The dependences, in spite of big, comfortable and well equipped, become cold and little cozy. The service is correct and there are many restaurants and bars in the hotel, all located in the Domo. The highlight is beyond any doubt, the 64th floor restaurant, Sirocco, absolutely dazzling.

“Excellent hotel to come home to after a long day in Bangkok”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

My partner and I spent 4 nights here in January 2012 (Thur-Sun). Considering we only paid 160 per night for a riverview suite, I thought the price was excellent. We received a complimentary upgrade and stayed on the 57th floor. The views were spectacular and the suites were more than enough space for the two of us.

This was a beautiful hotel (i.e. Sky Bar, breakfast area), but the rooms are standard business-like rooms. I wasn't bothered by it though.

We stayed here at the end of our trip and we wanted a high-rise hotel. I felt comfortable, it was a safe area, near the pier, and convenient to get to the airport.

The breakfast was beautiful and everything was freshly made. I enjoyed breakfast immensely.

Tip: If you are considering going to Ayutthaya, hire a taxi for the day and go on your own. We initially tried doing it ourselves and went to the minivans near Victory Monument, but it was a bit of a hassle and mildly uncomfortable being in an unmarked van. The ticket would have been 70 THB per person. Anyways, we left because it was taking too long and decided to go the next day. At the suggestion of the hotel, we hired a taxi right in front of the hotel for 2000 THB (830 - 4pm). It was the best thing we did. Ayutthaya is large and each sight is miles away from the other. There is no way in that heat that I would have walked all of Ayuthhaya or even biked. I am so happy we took a taxi. I would certainly recommend this even over one of those guided day trips.

Overall, I thought Lebua was very reasonably priced and I was quite comfortable. I have read other reviews on here about it not being a 5 star hotel. My reaction is, what 5 star is only 160 bucks a night?

Positives:
-Reasonably priced
-wonderful, fresh breakfast
-Beautiful sky bar (and just go - who cares if the drink is 12 USD. . I pay that in South Beach for an average bar)
-Quality service

Negatives:
-? a lot of people?

“Big Hotel at Great Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

Big property right at Silom junction. Good location. Liked the property............everything is big about it, right from the lobby, pool, restaurants, rooms, lifts, etc. One great attraction is the top-floor restaurant with city view........worth visiting.
Recommend this hotel over many others.
