“clean hotel but a little far out”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

We stayed at the hotel for three nights at beginning of a two week holiday to Thailand. On arrival we were told at 0830 our room wasnt ready and it would take about an hour. I wasnt too bothered by this as i felt an hour was reasonable and quite often hotels wont let you check in until noon . The only downside was i was tired jet lagged and not even often a drink and towle like the arriving airline staff seemed to recieve.

The concierge and staff at the front of hotel were extemely helpful and ordered taxis etc. It was also a 15 minute walk to the metro by turning left out of hotel crossing foot bridge and carrying on down the road.Although the hotel was a way out i would consider using it again and we took advantage of the complimentary shuttle to Patpong.

I felt reception staff were often under pressure on our third day we were unable to get back into our room and had to wait nearly 20 minutes at the desk as the only member of staff working there was busy .. surely someone could have come to our assistance ... I m sure this hotel is quieter than many others in Bangkok however i did find the pack of street dogs in the wooded area below a big annoyance at 2am every morning.

I felt this hotel was more geared towards airline staff and business clients than tourists ( albeit i couldnt fault the front door staff )

“Great!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

The rooms are great, had no problems here. All the staff speak English as my first stay was Koh Samui, where it was difficult. The concierge here is amazing hotel was busy but remembered everything, booked us a restaurant (and taxi as I forgot) for my anniversary.

The rooms are well suited for a business trip, but we enjoyed them just as much as a couple. Try Vivaldi as its a nice place if you don't want to travel out, esp if it's your first night there nothing beats a pizza!

Just one thing that New Petchburi Road is a main road in and out of Bangkok, so traffic can be bad we did have a few taxis that refused in peak times. But don't be dissuaded by this as a couple of minutes and another will come along!!

You may think of staying near a Skytrain station, but from what we saw the areas under the rail where dark and dinghy. Just catch a cab to the nearest one if you need it you'll have a better time here!!!

Room Tip: High Floors, 20+

“Always good to stay here”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

It´s my third time in that hotel and have to say I´m always happy to come back. Comfortable beds, view at the river, very helpful and polite staff who are greeting you from the moment you enter hotel. Gym, whirlpool outside on the open ,,deck´´ and swimming pool as well. Hotel is a bit far away from the down town but it´s very easy and cheap to get a taxi. It´s a good hotel for the start of your journey.

“Very good hotel. Fantastic Comfort. Highly recommended. Will always make you come back!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

The Atrium is one of the best if not the best business class hotels in Bangkok. Situated in New Petchburi Road, its just 5-10 minutes away from the City Centre. Great Location Really.

The staff right from the Resident Manager to the security and door men are very friendly. Service is also fantastic. These kind of people and quality service make the hotel feel like a home away from home.

The hotel has all the usual facilities that one would expect from a Business Class hotel. The restaurants and bars are very good indeed.

I highly recommend this hotel to everyone especially to first time visitors of Thailand. This is easily according to me the best hotel in bangkok. I will always stay here in the future.

Room Tip: Superior Rooms have the best value for money. Deluxe Rooms are Non-Smoking. Executive Floor Rooms...

“Confortable far from ild and down town”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

I have to say the hotel is good enough, but my perception is based on few facts, here below.

When we arrived we had to wait more than 15 minitues beofre somebody take care of us, because we were well in advance to check-in time, no body gave any information or advise about the hotel's services and facilities like, fitness center, breakfast time, SPA, pool area and so on. We had to go to a toilette to change our dress, before getting into a little tour in the city.
When we get back to the hotel, the receptionist gave us the keys of the room, skipping again to tell us useful information about a briefing they suppose to deliver to new customer when they get finish their check-in procedure.
I was quite surprise about this behaviuor (twice in few hours); back to main comment I had the perception that because of "internet reservation" (not refubdable) we were treared like a "B" class clients; infact the room we've booked was a superior but, there were few things like size size, just 1 small window was like mickey mouse home.
Let's move to positive stuff, such as breakfast service was good with multiple choice menu, fresh fruit, and many international dishes.
Room was so and so, we had to ask for soap and shampoo few times, make up room was too late in the evening and not really clean sometimes.
People and transportation are good, despite some lack of language communication.
Location is far from downtown district and old town (grand Palace and others temples), quite far from Indian and chinese market; to go to undergaround station (MRT) Petchaburi it takes between 10 to 15 minute walking.
Otherwise 5 minutes away from Hotel there is a boat wich will bring to a internal canal near to shopping area (Pattunam stop 15 min.) or you can go till end station near to old town area, but then you have to take a taxi or tuk-tuk to get to the river or to mounuments and temples.

Be carefull, to be approached by people offering a 3 hours tuk-tuk tour asking ONLY 20 bat, because then they will bring you to travel agency to book a tour, to visit outlet or suite factory /low quality and also to gem factory where tourist are welcome and theyr try to squeeze you out. There is a good public network transportation (undergorung/MRT or Sky train/BTS) to cross the city, also because traffic jam in BKK is a mass 15 hours a day (from 6am to 10-11pm).
