THE HOLIDAY INN SILOM BANGKOK.Originally part of the Crown Plaza group.is a value 4 star hotel. Situated in the popular shopping area of this vibrant city. Its not 5 star but if you like 2 star cost with a great pool, lobby, and staff, this is the best value in Bangkok.Forget the $15 breakfeast. Wait til 11am and have "dim sum" at the Kowloom independent chinese restaurant in the same building.One of the most popular,value, chinese eateries in the area.At night there is the "jameson"irish bar also in the same block/building.All in all, this is a great value quality hotel with loads of local bonuses.I look forward to returning after my tour of Myanmar

An excellent hotel well situated in Silom Road for shopping, skytrain, the river and sightseeing. The rooms are very well appointed and clean and the staff very attentive. The restaurants are good and provide a lovely buffet breakfast. I have no hesitaation in recommending this hotel and will stay there next time I am in Bangkok!

The location is very good. It's close to Taksin skytrain station, Sathorn central pier and Patpong night market. When I saw the lobby at first, I thought that it's a very nice hotel, but my room was not good as lobby. The room was at the other building of hotel. The window was very small, so the room was dark. Aditionaly, the window was so dirty that I couldn't see outside clearly. The furniture and bathroom were quite old. Although the corridors of the hotel smell very nice there were a strange smell in room. The breakfast was good.

Stayed at this hotel again in January for 3 nights and again found it to be quiet, clean and good value..ideal for staying after a long trip. The bed was soft and very comfortable and even though we had a room overlooking a busy street the insulation must be very good because it did not bother us.

We like this hotel because it is only a 15 minute walk to Central Pier and only 5 minutes walk from the Skytrain.

There is a good coffee shop/bakery in the hotel and a decent Irish Pub attached to the hotel at street level that was good and convenient.

Contrary to a couple of other reviews we found the staff helpful and friendly.
