My wife and three adult children plus partners - eight of us - stayed in the Vie for 5 nights in early January 2012. It's really difficult to find a bad thing to say about the hotel. Location is fantastic - 2 minutes from the BTS Skytrain station, under 10 minutes' walk to Siam Square, fantastic shopping, a couple of parks, loads of restaurants and facilities within 5 minute. We booked "luxury" rooms and got upgraded to Superior rooms - which are actually suites - and what suites! I wish my living room at home was as luxurious and well-appointed as the one in the Vie, and the bedroom was beautiful with fantastic views over Bangkok. Bathrooms are huge, beautifully appointed and decorated. breakfast was included as part of the internet deal, and was possibly THE best buffet breakfast I've ever seen. Excellent restaurant with a remarkably good 2-4-1 value-for-money deal - much more expensive than local Bangkok eateries of course, but stil terrific value by UK standards.
Fully equipped gym, nice swimming pool (although limited sunbathing space and quite small).
All staff (as usual in Thailand) endlessly helpful and friendly. The only (very minor ) criticisms I can come up with is that the mattresses were harder than I like (that's subjective), there was no bedside table on my side of the bed (which was vast!), and I'm not a fan of glass doors in bathrooms. Otherwise, in every way, fabulous.
Room Tip: Ask for a view towards Siam Square and it's worth upgrading to the "superior".
