I happened to be in Bangkok for an extended business trip and had my family along for the duration. Searching on the internet we found Ananpuri about 20 minutes from Silom/Sukhumvit area. The villas which range from 2 - 5 bedroom properties are located in a secure compound and there are lots of facilities within the project including two large pools, fitness center, golf driving range and so forth - but the true genius of Ananpuri is the facilities at the villas: private pool, jacuzzi in master bedroom and much much more + you get great rates for extended stays, however, even short terms seem very very reasonable for what you get.
So overall, if you are not in the market for a standard hotel experience then this place gets you so much bang for your buck.
