I've stayed at Citin Pratunam since August 2009, soon after they opened their doors. And I've been staying there whenever I am in Bangkok, which is about twice a year. I found this little gem through TripAdvisor at that time and there were not many reviews about this new hotel then. Nevertheless, no matter how few, they were all good and positive reviews, even back then. So I gave it a try with 2 other couples. We were all satisfied with all that was offered, from the room rates, to the concierge, to the room service and laundry to the bell captain who was super friendly and helpful with the city directions, even though they did not have a tuk-tuk shuttle then. We all loved the close proximity to the shopping areas.
If you are the adventurous foodie, like me, you will love the local food stalls found just outside and nearby the hotel, offering authentic Thai hot snacks, spicy Som Tam, noodles and fresh fruits. The local Thai style iced coffee found at the road stalls were superb. We didn't try their vegetarian restaurant because we prefer to eat out as we were all carnivoristic in our diets. But we inspected the menu and restaurant decor and found it very decent and cozy.
Since that first trip, the Citin group had grown and had even come into my country, Malaysia to open more hotels. I've visited, but not stayed in their Malaysia hotels and I've seen that familiar and traditional Thai quality and concept which is very comforting.
One suggestion though. since the Citin group has expanded very nicely and with their humble but excellent services, I am sure they will have many regular customers like me who will appreciate some form of loyalty program such as special rates, tours and activities.
Nevertheless, I'll be booking into Citin Pratunam again later this month! and I am very looking forward to the friendly smiles and care again! See you soon!
