Stayed here for the first 6 nights of a 30 day Thailand holiday in January 2012. The Navalai is a very clean and efficiently run hotel on the side of the river. Not near the city centre but has its own landing stage for the River Bus which is a very convenient way to tour Bangkok, away from the incessant traffic and associated fumes. It is also a short walk from the 'famous' (infamous?) Khao San Road, the heart of the tourist area of the city. We had a River Breeze room which is quieter and overlooks the river so there was always something interesting to watch. The rooftop pool also provided fresh air and a good range of drinks from the bar - reasonable prices too. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice and it was one of the few hotels we stayed in which managed to keep the hot food hot! (They put lids over the food warmers, so simple really so why did other hotels not do it?) It's also only a short walk to a peaceful park (turn right out of the hotel alongside the river) wher the local population goes to relax. A good start to our holiday. One tip - the hotel doesn't have much Tourist Information but the agent outside does. You only have to ask. One downside - we found the aircon noisy hence the "sleep quality" rating.
Room Tip: Ask for River Breeze on a high floor. You'll have to pay a premium though.
