“good for a short stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

this is a good choice for a short stay. i paid 1200batt a day for a double bed room. i stayed for 3 nights with my wife. the breakfast variety is good. different soup/porridge on different day. the hotel is close to Bangkok Palace Hotel. Some taxi drivers did not know this hotel even if the hotel card (in Thai) was presented but would understand it when the Bangkok Palace was mentioned. we paid 450batt for transfer from airport to this hotel. to transfer from this hotel to the airport for departure was 600batt for a van arranged by the hotel. a decent thai massage near Ramada hotel was only 200batt for 1 hour. a small mini market located inside the hotel but 7-11 is just within walking distance.

“Good location for shopping malls”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

We stayed at the Ecotel for one night, and paid £22 which included breakfast. You may be able to find cheaper places elsewhere, but this was a decent price for a decent room and included a decent breakfast. The location was ideal - 5 minutes walk from the main shopping malls (MBK, Siam, Panthip, etc) and we couldn't fault the cleanliness or helpfulness of the staff. We checked out in the morning but had a whole day to kill, and they kept our luggage safe until our return at 9:30pm! The area isn't the most exciting, but this is a great location for a base if you are in Bangkok to shop.

“Great budget hotel!!!”

I found this hotel through Groupon and I purchased it immediately after checking the hotel's website. I went there last November and I was very very very happy with my first visit to Bangkok. When we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted by friendly staff. on our first night, they informed us that the only room that was available was a standard room with a double bed but they gladly informed us that they would transfer us the next day to a room with a king sized bed. it all went smoothly! we were transferred to a different room the following day without any problems. we left our bags at the front desk while we were out.

i also like the location of the hotel, it's near the airport mrt, and if you like walking, it's a good 10-15 minute walk to the commercial area. we were even challenged to walk all the way to MBK (the mall on the farthest end). everyday, we would just walk to central, pratunam, MBK, Big C etc.

breakfast was good- they had a wide selection of breakfast food and it was really yummy!

I fell in love with bangkok and i think a big part of this was the hotel that i stayed in. i felt at home. :)

i'm looking forward to going back and staying in the ecotel bangkok!

“Value for money”

The hotel is just opposite The Ramada on New Petchburi Road. The cab driver had to ask a couple of people before locating this place. Rooms were clean, despite being compact. This hotel was in the heart of the shopping district with Indira Plaza, Pratunam Market & Phantip Plaza located within walking distance. The hotel staff provide you with a map that has all the shopping areas listed within 10 - 15 minutes walk from this hotel. The breakfast was great, with plenty of vegetarian options. The hotel staff were courteous, always willing to help. There are several convenience stores very near to the hotel. Overall a nice stay & would like to stay with them again.

“Bank for your buck!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

This review is kinda late actually. I went there last Feb together with my fiancee for 5 days and 4 nights stay. First off its actually easy to get to from the airport. All you need is to take the mrt from the airport and there is a station just a block away from the hotel. (We didnt know that and ended up spending 350 baht for a taxi). What we like about the hotel is the area around it is cordoned off and no cars are allowed on the streets so it makes for a quiet area even during night time. We felt safe and there is a 7 11 just across the street and tons of street food vendors. The hotel is also accessible by walking from all the major shopping malls and night markets. Would you believe we never took the mrt during our whole stay in bkk for the shopping?!! Its because the hotel is right smack dab in the middle of the shopping area of Bangkok. The longest walk we had was around 20 mins.

About the hotel....its very clean and the bathroom is big also. The front desk was kinda grumpy when we arrived but i think it was because of the tons of guests that day pestering her. (We did not experience any grumpiness on our succeeding encounter..in fact they were quit helpful) The breakfast buffet was also satisfying and we dont have anything to complain about. The staff were also very helpful with all our questions during the whole stay. Nothing exemplary but hey at least we did not have any stressful encounter.

Only 2 things that maybe i could say are "negative" about the hotel. First we bought a melon and wanted to eat it at the hotel, when we called to ask for a kitchen knife or even a butter knife from the front desk they told us they dont have. Now we know they have a knife since they serve breakfast buffet everyday and i saw tons of knives on the table. We ended up going out and buying one from the vendors. Second, the hallway is really creepy...and i mean the first time i stepped out from the elevator i though i was in some asian horror movie. I think it had to do with the lighting. And the strange thing about our stay at the hotel i CONSISTENTLY WOKE UP AT 3AM SHARP EVERY SINGLE NIGHT!! Now im a heavy sleeper and it takes a lot to wake me up...turning on the tv wont even do it. So i leave it up to you guys to form your own judgement. Oh and my fiance had no problem sleeping soundly.

Overall would i go back? HELL YEAH!! For 147 US dollars total i definitely would. And i would recommend this to all my friends.
