The hotel is very close to the famous HSING TIAN Temple and Taipei Songshan airport. It is conveniently located at the corner of exit no. 4, Metro yellow line. Our room was a cornor room which seemed to have slightly more space than the others. The room was cozy with all necessary toiletry provided. It seems the hotel has recently undertaken a refurbishment. There is a flat screen TV in the room with various programs around the world. Two bottles of water were provided everyday. There was an electric pot to make your own tea in the room also.

The breakfast was sufficient though nothing to be impressed. The staff's attitude was not the best but what to expect from such a 3-star hotel.

The rooms are fairly old and old-fashioned, and all rooms smelled of damp and mildew. When I asked about the possibility of switching to another room, they told me to turn on the dehumidifier in the room. I ran this non-stop the first day and it collected quite a bit of moisture from the air, but the smell didn't go away. I was there with a group of about 22 other colleagues. We all had the same problem and we all moved after the 1st night to another hotel.

The location isn't great, not that close to the MRT, but you can walk to the Xingtian Temple and the Siping St.

My family and I just returned from tours of Taiwan & China that took us around the island. I would say that Golden China was the best out of the hotels that they put us in in Taiwan, but compared to U.S. standards it was average. The customer service was polite and helpful, and the colors in the room were brighter/more neutral than the other hotels. The bathroom was clean and in neutral colors. The breakfast buffet was decent. The best hotel for our entire trip was the Gold Coast Hotel in Hong Kong - that breakfast buffet was the bomb.
