At the risk of painting with a broad brush...I've stayed in 3 business hotels in Taipei, and found them all to be underwhelming. This is the nicest of the three, but is in the same vein. I was upgraded to the "business" floor -- a large room, and clean, but very dated and tired in that aging hotel kind of way. For about $80 a night, and supposedly 4*, I would expect a little nicer. The bed was rock hard, as have all the beds I've had in Taipei hotels.
The location is so-so. An easy taxi ride to almost anywhere, but a long walk from the metro (15-20 minutes). This part of Songshan has a lot of activity, but Nanjing-Lu (the street out front) has been under construction for years, and it's starting to tell on the surrounding buildings, lots of empty store fronts and the whole place looks pretty tired. Also, the construction noise goes well into the night.
The fitness center was kind of sad, looked like no one had ever used it. There was pretty good free internet in the rooms.
