“Lots of comfort”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

We booked this hotel as part of a tour package, along with a flight from Hong Kong, and stayed for 2 nights.
Check-in was quick and efficient, despite the low level of English of the receptionist. Our room on the 5th floor was reasonably spacious, with all the regular amenities: air con, water kettle and some tea bags, cups and glasses, safe, and flat screen TV. The window opened to a narrow alley and the main street, but it was sound proof and no noise from the street could be heard in the room. Everything was clean, the bed comfortable. The bathroom was quite large, with a Japanese toilet/washlet, shower stall and rainbow light jacuzzi. Everything was not brand new but in very good condition and working. The wall separating bedroom and bathroom had a large window pane (with a curtain to pull down).
The hotel was about 10 minutes by foot from the MRT, which was a nice quick walk, and felt safe even at night. They also have a free shuttle bus to various points in the city, but you have to book it in advance (we weren't organized enough to do that).
There were several reasons for giving four instead of five stars. First of all, the free wifi was extremely spotty and sometimes did not work at all. We mentioned this to the front desk personnel, but this did not have any effect. Breakfast was included, but was extremely uninspiring, both in terms of selection and quality. It was edible and better than no breakfast at all, though.
Finally, when my sister (who was with us, but in a different room) was checking out, the staff asked her to pay for her room even if it had been pre-paid. It turned out that the paperwork that she had received from her travel agent did not entirely clearly state this, so they ran her credit card again, and were not really able to find out whether or not she had paid for the room already. I am not up to date about how the whole story turned out in the end, but the situation was extremely uncomfortable, and the staff displayed poor communication skills and completely lacked professionalism.
Overall a very nice hotel and a comfortable stay. Just hope that no questions about payment come up...

“Good Location and a Rainbow Jacuzzi”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2011

This is a nice peaceful Taiwanese Hotel that is more personable than the international chains. Not a particularly large room but very comfortable with an excellent bathroom. Not quite sure of the point of the rainbow lights in the bath when you turn the jacuzzi on but it was certainly memorable. Less than ten minutes to the MRT station and even closer to one of the smaller night markets. The hotel will take you to the main station for the airport bus which only takes 30 minutes and costs under £3. Decent breakfast on the top floor.

“Good Location, Nice Room with good breakfast”

Royal Seasons Hotel is situated in a lovely location which is near NingXia Night Market. There are plenty of eateries and convienence stores just around the hotel which is less than 5mins walk. The rooms are nice as well with Jaccuzi after a tiring day exploring around. There are shuttles from the hotel to MRT stations. Breakfast was nice as well, which is Taiwanese-style breakfast.

“Decent Location, Clean Rooms, Free Breakfast/Internet”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 July 2011

The title of my review pretty much sums up how I felt about my stay at the Royal Seasons. The location was just ok since you had to take their own shuttle to the MRT stations. Just make sure you contact the front desk about their shuttles because you have to let them know in advance due to the small size of the car. The room was clean but a little cramped after adding an extra bed. However, the bathroom was quite spacious with the jacuzzi tub and separate shower. Our rate included free breakfast which was just average. The internet was also somewhat spotty. There was wireless but it didn't seem to work with my iPhone/iPad. The wifi worked on my computer after connecting it with the ethernet cable which can be obtained from the front desk. Overall, the Taipei Seasons Hotel carries a good value and you can expect to have a good stay.
