“EXPERIENCE AT HOTE TULSI,POKHRA”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 November 2011

The Hotel is not very near to Fewa lake but is situated inside a lane. The font of the Hotel looks shabby and unattractive. The rooms are big but all are not view facing. We had a bitter experience with water supply. The Geysers in all the rooms were not working but in spite of repeated requests,it was not rectified and we had to shier after bath in the icecold water. In short, the service is very very poor.

“Super musty stench in rooms, filthy bathroom, and BED BUGS! beware!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 September 2011

The rooms look basic but ok at first glance, apart from the intense musty smell if the carpets, curtains and bedding.
The shower/ bath was covered in mould, and the toilet leaked onto the floor whenever you flushed it.
The bedding was musty, really hard pillows, and had bed bugs. I woke up covered in welt like bites.
Not sure about pricing, as we stayed here on part of a tour, but I wouldn't pay much at all if you had to stay here.
Breakfast, also super basic and overpriced.

“Great view by the lake.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 June 2011

Hotel Tulsi is located right next to Phewa Tal which offers an excellent panoramic view from the rooftop garden. On good days, the peak of Macchapucchre is a sight to behold. The hotel is located just off the main street which is lined with shops selling everything from trekking equipment, to souvenirs, to books and has many restaurants that cater to different tastes. Everything you need is probably located within just a ten minute walk which is very convenient.

Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly by the staff. The room given to us was generally clean and well kept, but the only complaint was the bathroom which had dark spots on the bath tub and algae on the shower curtain. Other than that, the room itself is spacious and comfortable and offers a great view of the city (we were given the fourth floor). There is no lift so we had to work our legs a little but I suppose it is small issue for people who are there for a trekking trip to the Annapurna Circuit. WiFi is provided free of charge but connection is intermittent and sporadic. We also experienced a couple of power outages during our two night stay there.

Overall, a good stay.

Room Tip: Do try to get the higher floors!

“Average hotel, helpful staff, dirty bathrooms”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 June 2011

Positives: This hotel was very close to the Phewa lake and had great views of the lake and the Fishtail mountain, provided you get the rooms facing them! It had asmall but beautiful roof garden on the 3rd floor with chairs that you could lounge around in after a hard day of trekking. Service was prompt, and tea was quite good.
Negatives: It was a very basic room, no fridge, no kettle. There was no lift, and as our room was on the 3rd floor, it invovled unwelcome effort after a hard day of trekking. the bathrooms were small, and the shower curtains were filthy... However we did complain about that and they assured us that they would change those curtains, so that might not be an issue.

Room Tip: Get a room which faces both Fishtail and the lake.

We were back from ABC trek n stayed in HOTEL TULSI POKHARA. We were fascinated by da view (beautiful mountains n lovely lake.AMAZING, really!) from da roof top garden. We snapped as much as pictures we could. We had a tasty dinner(Nepalese food) there. Rooms were even excellent (35$ worthy). AND ya! the best thing was da FREE INTERNET SERVICE.
