“Unreliable”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

First, they're quiet unreliable with bookings. Even after having booked rooms for ourselves, when we went there, they said, they didn't have any rooms and the horrible part was, the man said, he simply forgot and was not even sorry. My friend has stayed here and when i went to visit her and used the toilet, i got a bruise from the toilet pan, it is too sharp. I think, it's a low quality plastic seat as the edges were too sharp and bruised my bump.

Clean rooms, comes with breakfast and excellent service. But avoid the travel desk, they are helpful but expensive. Room with the lake view is very nice but more expensive then room facing the road.

Room Tip: If not on budget choose the room facing the lake, the room facing the road can very a bit noise in t...

“Horrible Shock”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 August 2011

We landed in this hotel as the travel agent convinced us that this would be ideal and economical after our journey from Lumbini (Bhairawa) to Pokhara and also that a free taxi would take us to the hotel. But then, he also told us that the local bus journey from Bhairawa to Pokhara was not as horrible as touted!

Tired and exhausted after the ride (we did get the free taxi), we landed in the hotel at around 6 in the morning (instead of 2 as promised) and the proprietor asked us to stay at the hotel close by until the rooms were ready. Things were fine, but we felt this particular fellow working in the place was a lil' weird and decided to leave our laptop at a friend's (we made at a local shop) when we went for our week-long trek. This might have been a very good decision, because when we came back, the owner behaved appallingly.

Yearning for a shower and bed when we came back, the owner told us there were no rooms. We were disappointed, but this was hardly his fault. We asked for the bill and noticed that he had added an extra day. We tried to explain his mistake by even offering to show our travel tickets to remind him. He then made a few phone calls and realized his mistake, but either because he got off from the wrong side of his bed that day or because he was what he was, he refused to admit his mistake and kept on insisting that we pay. He ranted about some crazy things like how he has roamed 20 countries till date and that we were nuts to know about the system, and that that we came at six and the payment for a day begins at 12!!! The rooms were hardly that expensive in terms of Nepali rupees, but the man's arrogance and behavior were appalling. I was furious at being cheated and being subjected to such behavior. But my bf did the practical thing, negotiated the price, collected the rest of our clothes that we had left, and found another hotel. We were able to give a piece of our minds to the man by thus playing "the good cop bad cop" routine!

So, if you have a choice, I would say, avoid the place, there are plenty of nice places with economical rates all around. If you land in the place in peak season with no other rooms available elsewhere, be precise in your conversations about about the price and timings.

“Great Hotel - Value for the Money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 June 2011

We (myself & two others) booked this hotel thro' the Badal Travel Agency at the Nepalis-Indian Border town, Sunauli. Great hotel with friendly staff. The room and bath are clean. It's the best budget hotel that I have stayed in this trip.

Room Tip: Room A12 has excellent viewed of the Annapurna Mt.

“A fantastic value hotel with great service and stunning location/views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 April 2011

Myself and 2 friends stayed at Pokhara Palace Hotel after being adviced by my brother that its a great place to stay. The location was perfect - just a 2 minute walk to lakeside but far enough away that its not too noisy. The views from the balconys on each level were stunning and the service was excellent. Everyone we spoke to there was really happy with the place also and pleased theyd chosen Pokhara Palace.

Room Tip: Fresh Mixed Juice and Pancakes for breakfast YUM
