“Middle of "No Where"”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 November 2011

This hotel is overpriced and overrated by the agents. It's really a budget hotel and should be for travellers who need a quick stopover. The view of the annapurna range and the relatively good service by the staff were the only saving graces. There were hardly any guests during the time we were there which indicates low room take up. It is very far from the main tourist and shopping area which is around the Pokhara Lake. It is located at least 30-40 minutes away from anything worth seeing or visitng.Nothing within walking distance.

Room Tip: None.. I would not go back to this hotel

“Mothballs drove us out”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 November 2010

I arrived 2a.m to an overpowering mothball smell in the room, which nauseated us both and drove us out the next day. My friend did have a few nights in other rooms that weren't so bad, though. We found the mothballs in a drawer. The hotel is in a very bizarre locatiion, inconvenient and plunked in the middle of...not sure where. It is NOT in Lakeside as another reviewer said. Caters to large tour groups. Mediocre breakfast.

“Nepali-Japanese follies with a great view”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 December 2009

Located in the KTM-Pokhara highway, this is a pretentious and oversized low quality accommodation, although expensive, hotel. Views on Annapurna range an Fish tail mountain are commanding though. Every written item in the hotel is translated in Japanese, although no Japanese tourists were present. Rooms are large and get cold during night time, although there is hot water and room service. In general the hotel is a bit tired. It is far away from the lake and the city so transport remains the main problem. 1 internet point available but terribly slow. Food is very repetitive.

“very average Lakeside hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 October 2008

This place (NB not the Fewa Palace Hotel) is famous for its lakeside location (down an access road from the main drag). Although its main claim to fame is its breakfasts, it is a hotel and does have 2 types of rooms. The "rustic Nepali rooms" are in fact a block of 6 duplex rooms(upstairs bedroom, downstaris shower & sitting area). Although built close to the lake, there is no view due to trees. I found them scruffy and not very comfortable. They are pricey by Pokhara standards. Not recommended. There is also a two story block of conventional rooms set further back. These are OK for the price, and convenient for the Lakeside (waters edge) breakfast, but I far prefer the Peace Plaza. The layout has changed since the photos on the website were taken, as there is now a public path between the hotel and lake.
